Upon further analysis, Karlheinzās entire Adam and Eve plan is complete bullshit actually.
Karlheinzās overall goal with the plan is to ācreate a new race that has both human emotion and can use magic like the demon race canā. Heās doing this because heās jealous of the emotions humans can feel because he canāt, and blames this on how he is born of the demon race.
But is it really true that the demon race canāt feel āhuman emotionā?
Vampires etc. that are not the dl trash or adjacent very rarely appear, but in games like VC/LP, there are some vampire extras that act pretty normal. Plus thereās descriptions of vampire children running around happily. And thereās also Yuuri the ghoul who besides defending Kinoās terrible behavior, doesnāt seem inclined to act that way himself.
As for the dl trash themselves, they do exhibit anger which surprise, is an emotion. What they actually donāt have is empathy. And thereās definitely also some humans that exist who have the psychological/empathy issues they have so itās even hard to say that whatās going on with them isnāt /human/. We can also point out that Yuuri is defending Kino because he empathizes with him, which is further evidence to disprove that this is an inherent demon problem.
Itās also been explained that Karlheinz purposefully ābroke their mothers so they would break their sonsā. Meaning Karlheinz did this deliberately, with the intention that his kids would turn out as awful as they are. Which kind of implies that the Sakamakiās childhood isnāt actually representative of the vampire race as a whole. The average common vampire not part of the ruling class might very well be raised not too differently from the average human. And if empathy issues is something inherent of the vampiric ruling class, then really thatās not too different from humanity either if you think about it.
All of this points to the conclusion that the whole ādemon race canāt feel human emotionā thing is a completely made up problem that doesnāt even exist. Meaning Karlheinz literally fabricated the problem into existence by purposefully raising his kids into the most terrible people imaginable, and is now claiming that fixing them is Yuiās ācosmic dutyā because it will accomplish the āgreater goodā of making vampires feel human emotion. Which again, is a problem that he made up!
This is further supported in a concrete way by the new manga series (thanks again @dialovers-yuri-edition for feeding me the details). Where it is revealed (or retconned) that the vampires needing to drink blood was a story invented by humans and isnāt true. But, Karlheinz made it so his kids would have to drink blood as a part of his plan.
So if Rejet is going to say this is the case for blood drinking, why wouldnāt it be for human emotion? Of course, it could be the case that many vampires believe themselves to not be able to feel human emotion because thatās what the humans say. Leading in turn, for them to be more at risk for developing mental health issues that on the surface make it seem true. But, that would just make it a purely societal problem and not some intrinsic flaw of the demon race as itās presented. And a problem like that, cannot and will not be magically solved by Yui āgiving birth to a new raceā.
To conclude, not only does Yui have no obligation to go along with Karlheinzās plan, the problem that his plan is supposed to solve does not exist and the real problem is not something the plan would even solve. Karlheinz needs to realize that him not being able to feel is a him problem. He needs to step up as both a ruler and a parent instead of shoving all the blame onto his people and dumping all responsibility onto Yui to fix a problem he created and calling it her ādestinyā. Because she is just a 17 year old girl, and itās wrong to expect her to fix his own damn mess.
So excuse me for being angry that Yui is suffering for literally no reason.
Karlheinz: I canāt feel like the humans can. This must be because Iām a demon. Itās the demon race thatās bad! Iām such a good person for wanting to fix it! I will do none of the work and force this random girl to fix it! I am a genius!
