boots carry himself across the creaky dock and taking his anger out on the gym had paid off well, carrying the cheeky girl with ease. "so what? that makes it funnier to me." jesse counters, finding hoisting strange girls over his shoulder & threatening to throw them in a body of water was a really humorous thrill. she was just askin' for it, he thinks. only thing that kills his overboard mood is because she wants it or doesn't care anyway, so he quickly learns once he halts & standing a few feet from the edge. as soon as she asks him IF he's in control, his brain automatically takes that as a challenge to ensure that he is. irritation sounding through him with a scoff as she bends that leg and it moves the rhythm of them off balance, right arm quickly having to curl tighter around her to keep her from slipping & bringing him with her.

"no. just wanted you to have some fun," fun as in struggling, "was hopin' you couldn't swim but clearly you can." blues rolled, placing her down hastily like she's something he wants to get rid of once her fingers were sending chills up his spine, annoyed expression painting his visage before a snort emits at her calling him handsome. good to know what she thinks of him. "bet shit, i'm tellin' you now that i'm not. should've played dumb, at least. huh.. sweetheart?" pestering hand tickles under her chin. "what. and give you that night time swim you want so much? no fun in that, if you know how to swim and even like the water demons inside of it." what the hell kind of crazy was that? don't know, but he hated it sounded attractive. "and whatever's in there won't bite harder than me." mischievous smile slowly curls his lips as half lidded gaze stares, mind tracing back to the aforementioned subject, "then again, it would send you out of my face." and then again.. what if she was playing him about wanting to go in the water after all? maybe a charade of reverse psychology or whatever. she did seem like she was good at messing with minds. well, he wanted to mess with hers better. "actually. how about you stay here, play with the water critters, and i go back over there to smoke my third cigarette in peace. huh?"

"well, maybe i am," long haired boy argues, "can't just decide it for me if i'm gonna throw you in this water or not." a scoff sounds from him, face stone hard and a monotonous pitch in his voice making it hard to register if he's joking or not. "hm, maybe." he doesn't like anyone knowing what kind of type he is, when no one can read you, they don't know what to expect whether it's bad or good. unpredictability as a safe mechanism. and it was too eerie for him, the way she was reading through him already ... running straight into things, that's exactly what he did. no one had just put it into words like that, summed it up on him before, let alone that quick. "you don't either, huh?" jesse questions, seein' that she's brave enough to get in a stranger's space and to understand that so well – he was curious where it came from. "none of your business." even if the different accent makes it hers. blues eyeing the girl close, following her movements for a few seconds, amused a little that she's so good at personal space invading but also at the idea that pops into his head now that she's so conveniently close. "movin' your way over here and tryin' to steal my smoke, huh?" he stills before ring clad hand suddenly swoops down to grab her arm, "or the second option," gravelly voice proposes, a pause– fingers stained with dried crimson wedging the half smoked cigarette between bloody lips to free his right hand. bending down to pick her up off her feet, strong arms tossing the girl over his shoulder, "you get thrown outta my space and over board." starting to walk, he's heading down the dock, all the way to the end. "hope ya know how to swim." smirk curling around the cigarette bobbling from his mouth.

icy hues moving over on the girl, now when the hell did she get here? briefly irritates jesse she startled him -- hated bein' caught off guard. "well," gravelly voice picks up from moving the cigarette from his lips, addicted to these marlboros at this point since it was his fifth one in one hour. "don't flatter yourself, sweetheart. i ain't stalkin' you," southern accent corrected & stormy blues rolled, earring dangling from his ear reflecting off the moon light illuminating them. he was just thinking... something he did a lot, something he wouldn't admit he did a lot. currently in the calm after raising too much hell, the busted lip staining his fingers & cigarette evidence there was indeed a lot of hell raising before landing up here. some splatters of blood dotting the white shirt underneath his black leather jacket. and he was dying to get back home to nashville, another thing putting him in a sour mood, distancing from everyone. things wasn't going so well for him in monaco, made him feel out of place and his bandmates were pissing him off along with the girl still dinging his iphone stuck in the back of his jeans pocket. she can piss off too for thinkin' it was funny to flirt with one of his band mates. ding. calloused fingers placed down the neck of the black electric guitar, leaning it up against the nearby wall to fetch his phone from leather jacket pocket. dark brows pulled into a crease, blues taking in how beautiful she looked at first since that was the initial thought– but where the hell was she going dressed like that without telling him? that settled next and the thought quickly becomes a text followed by a few spam messages with question marks. eventually jesse sneers in frustration, gives up in temporary defeat because he has no other choice but to fucking wait. the silence slowly driving him insane though, gnawing at him – while he forces himself to go back to practicing guitar.

several minutes later, his phone began to vibrate and he quickly threw the instrument back down to see if was the person he hoped it was. "where the hell are you?" gravelly voice immediately speaks into the phone, irritated at the loud music buzzing into his ear, making it even more frustrating to grab the details he's urgent on getting. that doesn't come, all he gets is a confusing message... either she just butt dialed him or this is all for purpose. the fire in his chest sets off like wildfire the second he hears another man's voice and then it registers. that little jab. she's doing this on purpose. all because he's gotten himself trapped, he didn't know how to accept love, didn't want to be destroyed all over again – but neither did he know how to accept losing someone who'd been the only person to make him want to put his heart out on the line which is exactly why he had freaked out and said that shit. fuck.

cursing every beat, he's already dressed– clad in white button up, leather jacket and jeans, besides his shoes he gets out of the closet before slamming it back. vibrating the entire apartment with the ferocity behind it. he'll be damned if he lets her get away with this, he doesn't care what he said because little does she know it isn't true anyway. knowing her track record, he zooms off in his sports car, driving it angry and reckless until he lands up at the club he knows is the right one and shoves through the crowd of people like a hurricane brewing through once he's stormed out of the vehicle. once he catches the familiar dress from the text messages and then the face, he stalks over in disbelief, heart pounding harder, "what the hell are you doing, madison." deep voice booms, shoving whoever out of the way to get to her, rage coiling inside his chest and filling stormy blues when they land on her company. suddenly, the world feels less stable and all he sees is pure red. "and who is this old fucking geezer? looks like a god damn pervert that belongs in the nursin' home to me." untamed anger doesn't allow him to wait, ring clad hand grabs for the older man's shoulder, trying to rip him up out of the seat. "or the morgue."

There was no point in staying at that New Year’s Eve party. She hadn’t even made it to midnight, and the promise of a beautiful view of a fireworks display couldn’t lure her enough to stay. Embarrassment seemed to be the key to sobriety, because as she walked a couple blocks to her apartment, she felt the buzz of the night slip away and she was left sulking knowing she had done something tremendously stupid. She took the elevator up to her floor and opened her clutch to take out her keys. Releasing a sigh, she stepped out and walked towards her door, but soon stopped dead in her tracks. Someone was in front of her door - but not just anyone. The person she called. “Oh,” she grimaced. “You got my message, I assume… I tried to figure out a way to delete it, but I was, uh, unsuccessful I see.” She took a step closer and tried to hide her look of embarrassment. “I’m sorry. "yeah, i did." and a snort would then sound from jesse at all the rambling he heard from it, plucking cigarette from lips and exhaling the smoke. no smoking was permitted, but he couldn't give a damn. he always had a way of walking and talking where he wanted to. "why would it mess up my night? can probably think of a million of other things that can mess up my night. it was pretty sweet, real nice of a message." southern accent complimented. another wave of amusement washed over him, curling lips into a humored smile. at least until he started thinking about the fact she was just drunk when she called and said it. having feelings for her didn't exactly make that easy or make him feel good in the least, since he likes to assume she doesn't see him that way. and that's all it was, a dumb drunk call with no real feelings attached to it. probably why she looked embarrassed? "you probably didn't mean it anyway." the smile slowly vanishes and drains from his features. "but figured i'd come n' check on you anyway." broad shoulders shrugged underneath leather jacket, blue eyes trailing away from her and focusing on his cigarette instead.

his brows eventually perked when daisy kept trying to get something out and it was beginning to take awhile. jesse turns his gaze on the girl, blue eyes skeptical. silent for a moment, maybe at times he doesn't come as the friendliest, he was hostile with a lot of people besides select ones... but he would never intentionally growl at her or say no to hurt her on purpose. he was sharp to even notice the way tears weren't pouring down her cheeks yet, but he could see them welling.

"why're you cryin', daisy?" southern voice laced with concern questions, an emotion he doesn't show for most people. except for his own grandmother who has been the only person to look out for him after his mom vanished a long time ago and his dad has been hell on him his entire life, if not for his grandma giving him love to weigh out the brutality of his fathers treatment and officially taking him in at sixteen he doesn't know where he'd be.

"you don't need to." cry, he means. "you haven't even let me answer yet." he chuckles as he takes a draw off cigarette wedged between ring clad fingers, trying to reroute the emotions she's feeling and make it into a lighthearted comment. "i ain't sayin' no if that's what you thought. might be a little embarrassed walkin' in there, but i'm there for you. you know i am. how could i say no to nana?" he smirks playfully. "i hate you so much right now. and your stupid names for me. especially pipsqueak," she said and shoved him before she's grabbing her things and sighing when he grabbed her hand to pull her out of the club. "oh, i bet." emma countered and saw the way he pulled his hand away from her, almost like her touch burned him. she frowned for a moment, but followed behind him, her heels clicking against the ground. once she was in his camaro, she pulled her air force 1's out to switch her heels out with. her feet were killing her. she usually did her sets barefoot, but this club was touchy about that, so she had to keep herself in heels.

when jesse got in beside her, she turned to look at him, "now what is your plan because if it has to do with me getting my ass kicked, i'm out. i'll go right back into that club and ignore you for the rest of the night." emma looked down at her phone when she turned it back on and she had about fifty text messages and voicemails. she always kept her work phone on, though. she couldn't get distracted by that one as much as she would her other phone.

with a sigh, she leaned back in the seat. her head was pounding and she glanced back over to her best friend. that's what jesse was to her, even if he drove her up the fucking wall. "take me to get something to eat while you explain your plan. if i don't like it you can bring me back here, but i'm fucking starving and i want a burger really badly," she murmured and pulled her seatbelt on. she ran her fingers through her hair and gave him a quirk of a smile. she wrinkled up her nose at him and looked through her bag to find her hoodie and pulled it on over the dress she was wearing.

"you're welcome." curly haired blond snorts, feeling no remorse for the nicknames because he, for one, loves them. "pipsqueak." rephrasing yet again, which makes him laugh at that and at her reaction. "it won't get kicked, as long as we don't get caught." shrugging, smiling in amusement as he thinks it shoulder be that easy and like it's no big deal at what he has concocted once he shuts her door back for her and climbs in on his side.

"okay, okay. i will. jeez." pressing the start engine button, the sports car roars alive and he checks both ways before pulling off the side of the street where he was parked. "we'll go to cherry's diner and drive in for one, i like theirs best." he decides since he hasn't ate today and could go for one too, getting on the route that'll take them there. "do i tell you the plan now or wait until you've had food? since i feel like that could determine a lot, since you seem grouchy before you eat."

she's nearing the end of her set when she feels someone tap her shoulder. she looked over and her eyebrows shot up when jesse spoke. "are you nuts?! i'm still in the middle of a set!" she laughed and sighed as she beckoned someone over to help her out. she stepped to the side to talk to him, "what are you thinking? this had better be good because they will never invite me back here to play!" she spoke louder and folded her arms over her chest. she tilted her head to the side and gave him a little smile because she would do just about anything for jesse -- even if it meant giving up a job. she sighed as she started to gather her things because she was going to leave, anyway. whether the set was over or not.

a soft laugh sounds from him, the overall reaction of her being shocked from his question amusing him right to his core. then can't help but think what an ironic question that is. "a little bit, yeah." probably going to find him even more nuts once she hears about his 'plan'. "i'll tell you once we're outside." since, for one, it's too damn loud in here and two, he wants to get her outside where he can at least do some begging in case she refuses to help him with his plan.

"i'm sure they will or i'll make 'em." playfully smiling, cheeks dimpling because there's an aggravating soft spot he has for her constantly gnawing at him. which could be real confusing being on the other end of his hot and cold spells, sometimes when he feels he's getting too wrapped up in her he turns distant and cold abruptly then other times like now he's so involved and would punch anyone for dissing her.

"pout all ya want but you gotta follow me, pipsqueak." calling her names and poking fun is just too fun. even if his intention is to try and annoy her with them, they always are secretly affectionate. his form of his own love language. don't they say boys always bully the girls they like most .. even if he won't admit that. "this is gonna be the most fun you've ever had." he snorts and pries one of her hands away to take hold of it, or the worst time. starting to lead her out of here, of course he pulls his hand away like hers burned his once they're back outside and almost to his camaro. can't seem like he was enjoying it or anything.
