I'm getting poetic again

goodbye to the carrd I made in early 2023 when I figured out I was Wade Wilson. It was under an old email account that I used a lot in High School and I think that was my issue with it. It had that constant watermark of what phase I was in, and it was not fun. I feel kind of the same feeling with my tumblr account. I'm not going to deactivate it, But I think I'm going to start a new account, and this time I'm going say I'm fictionkin on my main. I was too shy to do it then, but I'm not anymore

Took crummy screenshots of the carrd before I thanos snapped it and I'm already kind of nostalgic about the whole thing. I'm getting all sappy over a carrd, I know. But to High School me, It was all I had in terms of representing myself in a way I wanted to be seen. This whole blog has been like that, and I think I want to keep doing that in a louder sense. The fictionfolk community is so awesome here and I want to keep living in it :)

I think deleting the carrd was the right choice. I can't wait to make a new one where I'm in a better time in my life where I can be Deadpool a little more than I could before

My Alterhuman Update

Sorry I’m not posting as much. Don’t worry Thanos didn’t snap me out (yet)

I’ve been an anxious mess ever since my source has been releasing trailers and whatnot. Handling that sorta stuff is difficult when it’s abrupt like trailers, billboards, and other things I wasn’t expecting to see.

I don’t know how I will react to the film itself but I know (good or bad) it will affect my alterhuman identity for sure. Only thing that’s guaranteed is me going batshit over this ha! So I’m stepping back from my blog for a little bit, Just until the movie hype dies down.

I’m worried about a lot of things at the moment but my main concern is loosing relevancy in the alterhuman community. Constant ranting is how I stay around, and how I stay in touch with you guys <3 I’m just praying that everything will be the same when I get back

Some positivity in the ask would be deeply appreciated but ofc if you don’t want to, that’s cool too

I’ll probably be a little more silent for like a month and then I’ll row back to my long paragraphs and moodboards. I’ll check it out every once in awhile and answer ask but that’s about it. I hope you all understand ily :)

I've seen some critters on here say "physical nonhuman" or "biologically nonhuman", and I haven't seen those terms before. Can anyone explain em? Are they new terms or have I just not seen them? Lol

Physically nonhuman means you identify physically as something other than human. This could be for a lot of different reasons but I’ve seen most use it as a term that fits better with their delusions or psychosis but that’s not always the case

I know more about biologically nonhuman because I am biologically nonhuman

I personally use the term for being physically nonhuman in a genetic way. Like I somehow inherited my mutant-nes and it’s part of my DNA. (hence the bio part) I’ve never actually met anyone else who is biologically nonhuman so I could be speaking only for myself on this one, but from what I know, that is the definition and it’s slightly different from just identifying as physically nonhuman but either way you are nonhuman if you identify as one or the other

The majority of Otherkin in general are 18-25

But the majority of Otherkin on TikTok are 12-14 and TikTok is the main platform where we are seen by non-kin

So now there’s this big misconception that we are all young tweens running on all fours and wearing mask when in reality most of us don’t do that and its barely scratching the surface of the community

I’m not saying young otherkin aren’t valid because they are young, I’m just saying right now they are the face of the community because TikTok is the place where non-kin “learn” about us

We got this back when Tumblr was the platform du jour as well. "Most otherkin are children"-- no, most visible otherkin are young, because online, the most visible demographic of just about any community skews young. They're the people who are discovering the community for the first time, hyped about it and eager to make stuff and spill all their thoughts.

Plenty of us older folks around (and a lot of us older than 25), we're just not so noticeable.

The term Otherkin was first used as a term for this identity in 1990. The people who used it then were old enough to be using networked computers, so they are probably at least a handful of decades old by now.

We’ve been consciously aware that we’re not human since 1985. We are here on Tumblr nearing 50 years old and we still identify as Otherkin. Or, rather, our identities as non-human beings fit the description. We’ve always felt the term was too outworldly for us.

Anyway, bullying otherkin is simply bigotry, and we will not tolerate it.
