I genuinely couldn’t decide which filter I liked better from playing with my markers for the first time in a million years. I was going for a pastel shout vibe. I really struggle with leaving things vague, so I was trying to make myself be “done”.

Did this for Inukag week “yearning” for Crimson Pearl, my WIP Inuyasha Merfolk/Ama diver AU fic. Simmering these long months… years….

I referenced the home from Lu Over the Wall, which everyone should watch, especially if they like the fishy folk. My fic’s town is basically the town from this movie, zero regrets.

Yura of the hair is Yura of discarded fishing lines and netting. Her outfit is made of sea trash and plastic refuse that she loves to adorn herself with.

I am really not very good at trying to simplifying my process to get to something I consider "colored" or whatever. I need to get comfortable with more loosensss cuz I really effing hate inking and overworking things.

For everyone who loves Sesshomaru. There’s an ungodly number of pencil doodles trying to get a look I liked. I’m still not sure if I like his fur boa as a school of fish. I want it to show his merfolk power, but I think Triton has one in the TLM remake, so it kinda put me off the idea. It was THAT long ago that I’ve been sitting on Seshomaru as a concept into my fic. I’m not terribly happy with the full digital version the way I am the sketch tbh. There’s bits I like more on each of them I guess. Pencil boy has his navel in the wrong place, but I forgive him.

I hope I have enough fic written soon for people to actually read it this year. As much as I’m a huge baby about posting art now, I’m like 50x more of a weenie for writing, sorry.

I am so ridden with washed up burnt-ed out artist baggage I fergot I colored this one, oops.

I’m trying to get the hekke over it I promise.

It’s Splash / H20 rules for my merman Inuyasha. I can’t decide if that’s all merfolk, or just because Inu is half mer, either way, gotta love it. Dry off, levies, get splashed, get scales. My Inuyasha mermaid AU fic is called Crimson Pearl, which I hope I one day have the nards to put into the world.

I guess I missed Inuyasha fluff week, a sincere tragedy. Better luck paying attention and feeding my art beast next year.

I’ve been sitting on this for over a month. Happy MerMay!

I have been working on my fanfic, but I’m really slow and intensely self conscious. There will be words to share someday. I’m just happy this fandom exists.

This was one of the first concepts I drew, so my hangups about it kept me messing with it and sitting on it, but it deserves to be freeeee.

This is that boat scene but in my AU Inuyasha fic, Crimson Pearl. Kikyo is an Ama diver in the 1920s, Inuyasha is half merfolk. She tragically died in a mysterious accident. The fic takes place in 70’s Japan when Kagome spends a summer in the small coastal town.

I have piles of stuff for this fic. Thanks for the feedback so far, sweet IY fandom. I am very often paralyzed by the fear of being PERCIEVED but I’m feeling better every day.

Cursed undead mermaid Kikyo

I sat on this for a bit. Overthinking too much. She was originally human, but brought to life in an unholy manner. Fic just keeps growing more appendages, but I love Urasue so much I’ll find a niche for Kikyo. Might still mess with this design, but I’m stuck on the skelly tail. She needs soul collectors….

14-15 year old guppy-yasha!

This is my first Mer-sesh. I ended up going in a really different direction, but I came back to this one to practice coloring. Till this point, I’d avoided the “clothes problem” with mer-Inuyasha but Sesh just looks weird naked without getting crazy with the fins. I’m working on adapting his armor and tail. It’s mostly for fun, because I’m not sure if I have a story niche for him, but I’ll post about that later.

Kagome coming ashore and taking off her goggles from diving. She’s a beginner ama, Japanese freedivers, usually women, who dive for abalone, pearls, and other seafood. The best way to meet a monster-boy-fish-dog!
