Adultism (and ableism) is when children are told that they don't do enough or are "too young" to be experiencing what they're experiencing. Like being told you're too young or haven't done through enough/don't do enough to be depressed or upset or tired suspect a physical disability or to experience anything they don't like, really.

My mother kept telling me I wasn't doing enough of anything to be constantly tired (which, for context, I had spent days just at home and could rest whenever I want), that she's the tired one because she has to go to work and deal with her phyiscal disabilities... but guess what? That didn't suddenly energize me. I was and am still tired all the time.

Got bloodworks done, turns out I'm anemic. Not bad enough for constant lightheadedness or fainting, but enough that I get real tired real easily, despite my lack of activity. It also explains why sleeping doesn't help, because it's not a lack of sleep, it's a lack of iron to absorb.

Point is that it always makes more sense to actually discover the reason why you feel some way instead of just saying you shouldn't feel like that. If you shouldn't feel like that then you wouldn't be. And anyone who says your feelings are wrong are lacking in common sense and their useless opinion should be discarded 👍

i know im meant to be doing other stuff....but i needed to bully cedar again-

the only oc thats mine is cedar- everyone else is @smiuffzo's- alts also dont have any extra pieces of info this time- sorry :'3

im not confident with this one (could also just be cause ive been pretty anxious recently :'D ), so i feel like i gotta explain myself- cause i dont think anything makes sense-

the idea was whatever happens to cedar happens, and he just starts freaking out- and while everyones panicking, samuel just happens to be nearby so theyre brought in while everyones still figuring out what to do (my initial thoughts were 'cedar freaks out in some uncontained place and cause of his electricity they cant move him', but surely they wouldve had issues with esteban with that logic? so im choosing to say maybe he was just in a fairly open space and no one prepared properly-)

and cause everyones panicking, no one initially thinks to inform samuel of the fact they could get shocked, but theyre confident cause of their experience with esteban and doesnt think to wait- and then gains a grudge against cedar for that and making him lose his composure for a second- (that second bit being inspired by the samuel and cedar comic smiuff did-)

though a lot of my choices were cause the visual aspects wouldve looked good- so im willing to be told this just isnt a realistic scenario/ accurate, cause it probably isnt ._.

though fun fact, krita started being really weird by the end of this, and when i was trying to fix stuff and export everything, krita decided to put a black box over the faces of one of the samuel refs i had?? and for a split second i thought they were out to get me lmao-

hi so i actually read this like the day it was posted but i spent the last couple of days feeling like i havent slept in a month SO since i wanted to make some doodles for it the response had to be horribly late my apologies :,3

THAT BEING SAID THOUGH. HOLY SHIT I'VE READ THROUGH THIS SO MANY TIMES. I FREAKED OUT ABOUT THIS FIRST PANEL OF SAMUEL IN PRIVATE AND HONESTLY WANTED TO PUT IT AS MY PHONE WALLPAPER CAUSE IT LOOKS SO GODDAMN GOOD... I ALWAYS ADORED HOW YOU DREW SAMUEL AND WITH THE DESIGN REMAKE I JUST CAN'T HELP BUT SQUEAL LIKE A PATHETIC DOG CHEW TOY BEING VIGOROUSLY RAVAGED BY A RESTLESS PUPPY. HE LOOKS SO GOOOOOOODDDDD

i love the contrast you did between how dangerous and full of tension the first scenes are and how calm and basically cozy the cafeteria scenes look... really makes it feel like a damn vivid memory and since it's something samuel is recollecting, it's really fitting. ALSO HEY RED BEING SORT OF THE 'ALARM' COLOR BOTH FOR SAMUEL AND CEDAR IS VERY VERY NICE AND I LIKE IT. for a second both of them are basically reduced to the same feeling of fight or flight and i LIKEEEE that. they also harm eachother at the same time and this is probably cornplating but i think the scratch is what cedar is being asked and hesitant to respond about :,D

OH ALSO, WHILE SORTA STILL ON THE TOPIC OF THAT... you did say the choices don't have a bigger meaning behind them, but the moment of samuel getting shocked and 'embarrassed' being the brightest part of the comic alongside his dialogue is also really good. makes it seem like the core part of the memory, the moment they got stuck on and can't help but repeat in bitterness.

also you mention how this doesn't seem like a likely scenario, but actually this comic made me think about samuel's more 'nagative' tendencies. it kind of made me realise that yeah, i have been making samuel hyperfocus on things without really realising that it's a trait they might carry... so i guess this piece just made me officially canonize that :,3 i think them getting tunnel visioned on cedar without really minding the surroundings/forgetting about possible dangers is not out of character at all! especially paired with his confidence in being able to handle harm, though it works in the cafeteria scene as well. samuel was made to channel the feeling of being unable to stop obsessively rotating something in your head until it's been hours and you end up overstimulated, so this behaviour is incredibly fitting.

in general, it's hard to believe that you don't feel confident about this comic :,} the paneling, poses, expressions, color choices and in general just eeeverything is, as always honestly, just SO FUCKING HIGH QUALITY HHHHH
