After today’s race the Italian commentators interviewed Toto, and Camicioli asked him who he thinks the biggest antagonist for Kimi is, if George or Hamilton or Leclerc, or if the McLarens even, which I already found a gross enough question to ask to the team principal himself when his two drivers are the ones who have been the biggest contenders for the wdc so far, but then Sangiorgio went and asked “is there actually a problem with George’s power unit at this moment?”, only looking for validation for the narrative they’ve been building around George, and Toto had the absolute nerve to respond that “all Mercedes engines have trouble at the start, it’s a software thing, KIMI HAD THIS PROBLEM TOO, that’s why Verstappen surpassed him. We have a super fast engine but the mobility isn’t there yet, that’s why, we’ve seen it with Kimi in Silverstone, we’ve seen it with George here. It’s all Kimi Kimi Kimi for him, the question is about George and he’ll still bring up Kimi first and then go on to deny that something’s wrong with Geroge’s car, and shift the blame on him and compare the two cars, insisting they’re the same when it couldn’t be more evident that they aren’t. And all of this over and over and over again.

George has had the same trouble for three weeks now, the stats are all out there for everyone to see too, it is all undeniable, yet instead of defending him and protecting him against misinformation, he keeps on going on interviews to fuel the negative and untrue ideas and narratives around him, and it is just so disheartening to see happen. Like, it isn’t anything new, but after today’s race and weekend in general it really felt so disheartening

i think we need to have a conversation about how well arvid’s been doing. i feel like the commentators and fans of f1 in general haven’t bern giving him the due credit. he’s managed to consistently be in the top 10, he’s had multiple points finishes and he’s clearly outperforming his car. all at the age of 18! he’s so insanely talented and i can’t wait to see how he grows as a driver.

It's genuinely interesting to me that Gwen Lagrue is leaving Mercedes' junior program, which is said to be declining at this point. George was the one who helped carve it into existence, by emailing T*rger for advice before it ever existed, and gaining his support. Kimi was "discovered" through it, supposedly. It's like T*rger decided that both the program and George served their purpose and gave him his "future Max" (doubt it) and now he doesn't care anymore. My question is, is he planning on leaving Mercedes within the next 5-7 years? Because I'll bet you anything that Kimi will for his beloved Ferrari if he does turn out to be as good as T*rger thinks he is. What then? You kneecapped the junior program and you're doing your best to axe the driver who would have happily helped you build the future of Mercedes. Is there literally any future thinking involved? Even if T*rger plans to retire he still owns 33% of the team. Is he going to sell it then use the inevitable decline due to lack of leadership to try and cement himself as a legend Mercedes wholly relied on? Because that's the only way I see any of this making sense. So I'm curious to see if this a feat of breathtaking arrogance or breathtaking stupidity.

1. Gwen Lagrue noticed him since karting, almost recruited him to the Lotus Junior Team, gave him a seat at Eurocup Formula Renault, brought him into Mercedes for the second time (even after George rejected them for the first time)

2. Christian Horner name dropping since his F2 years and never moved on

3. Marcin Budkowski saying George should call him if that austrian rat didn't

4. Helmut Marko admitting on missing out on George Russell for Red Bull Junior Team

5. Oliver Oakes saying that Hitech wouldn't be anywhere without George despite him only being there for 1 season and in the equivalent of FRECA

6. BMW immediately offered him a six-figure contract on the table for DTM after going fastest among other drivers and allegedly beating Mercedes and Audi's time

7. First and only junior driver to reject Mercedes and make them come back for the second time for him

is the way george's two dnfs from this season weren't his fault. is the way george, who needs praise in pivotal time for better outcomes, doesn't even read a single praise anymore. is the way george asked his sport therapist if he is selfish for trying to prioritize himself on racing and not just play the wcc route. is the way george's team always tell him 'they are trying to look for the issues' on his car but nothing gets done. is the way george had to fight for himself when the undeserved monaco penalty happened and his team didn't back him up then, later did when gasly won the appeal (didn't even attend the hearing while other teams affected by penalties did) and just dropped the case before the hearing even took place. is the way george has to beg marcus for data on why he keeps losing tenths while marcus only tell him 'i need more data'. is the way a lot of times the team let's everyone blame him for the team's fault and then, during debrief, share about it not being his fault at all just when everyone already dogpilled on him and dismissed every single thing he tried to do by saying he is just getting lashed by his teammate.

I cannot tell you how dangerous today was, fucking dangerous, now I don't give two shits how you feel about George, but we have lost enough people in this sport that you need to open your eyes and see how dangerous today was. This isn't the uwu championship of precious baby boys going round a track.

Mercedes have left a driver in a dangerous position because of their incompetence, and all they have managed to do is gaslight that driver and tell him there is no problem. That is not acceptable, they need to be held accountable.

And if we take them at their word, and this is an issue on all Mercedes cars then why the fuck are any of them out there because this could be any of them being put in a dangerous position.
