Armand is is using people who are saying that Armand told the truth to spread his agenda of stopping the great conversion. They will cut Lestats head off to stop him.

Hello Armand nation from the many comments I saw online.

The fact that you understand Armands character (which is good for you that you pay attention to the show) is really good but It doesn't excuse his actions.

All the things he's done, like the trial amongst other things, you are able to understand and explain them, which is called good writing, but understanding characters actions isn't an automatic excuse.

Other characters not understanding his actions/other characters being mad at his actions is absolutely understanable.

I think a lot of people perceive vampires here through a lense of human morality hence why they either hate him that much that they dismiss anything he's saying or doing, that means you're not paying attention to the show by dismissing other characters impact on armnads character and how he perceives them.

Or love him and understand him to the point of dismissing what he's done to other characters and how they perceive him.

Armand can't get into Daniels head anymore.

He can't bring back the shared memories of their love.

Daniel will have to willingly try to remember them. Just like San Francisco.

Tvl future episodes speculation

Well nothing in this show is incidental so someone is definitely getting decapitated. My bets were on Daniel at first because of how often it's mentioned he's going to die, but that would be too obvious of a choice. Not saying that Lestat wouldn't be an obvious choice, I just found more ground for speculation on that.

I rewatched the rolin cut trailer and there are some interesting things in it. Especially ones that look really out of place and unreal, the ones that are clearly happening in Lestats head or imagination (or he's going to be high again).

This shot (amongst many interesting shots) is especially interesting to me, with lestat being out in daytime and this specific dialogue playing over it. It might be a bit of a stretch, but I do think Lestat is going to die, by of course decapitation and come back, somewhere at the end of this season.

And this shot is going to be pulled from his thoughts, his head, memories, the truth that lestat is hiding from us and himself. Relieving his life trapped in this head and revealing his lies or omissions to us.

I feel like my biggest consistent issue with the amc iwtv/tvl show is the misogyny in the changes they made, which is a little bit ironic considering a popular criticism of the vampire chronicles books is how Anne Rice’s internalized misogyny shines through

I can not, for the life of me, understand why they are making every single female characters’ story revolve around sex (with the sole exception of Louis’ mother and sister)

They took Antoine, adapted him into Antoinette (initially a good opportunity to add more female characters to the story) stripped the elements of the character reminding Lestat of Nicki and reduced her to being “the other woman”, just to have her die at the end of season 1 while her male book counterpart survived to modern day in the books

They (very understandably for logistical reasons) aged up Claudia and decided that since the “eternal child” struggle wasn’t as much of an issue anymore, the way to justify her staying with Louis and Lestat was to have her be sexually assaulted by another vampire, shaking her belief that she would be able to live independently despite being able pass for a college student

Since Claudia’s arc was changed, they decided that since Madeleine couldn’t be a grieving dollmaker mother who saw her lost child in Claudia anymore, the best course of action would be to have her be shunned and slut shamed for sleeping with a Nazi/being a collaborationist

(Listen, I’m a queer woman, I LOVE that we got Claudleine out of these changes, however, I think it’s quite telling that this was the thing they came up with for her new backstory, they could have come up with literally any other reason for her to be an outsider)

Estelle, Celeste and Eglee spend most of their time being catty to Claudia and competing for Santiago’s attention

I have a lot of things to say about Gabrielle’s transformation into Gabriella… mostly bad things… (see my previous posts) maybe exclusively bad things… they took my horrible terrible negligent mother who wants to be a cougar instead of a person and turned her into a hypersexual milf (still a cougar in a way I guess) who will probably end up joining Akasha’s motion to “wipe out the Y chromosome”…

Christine spends all of her screen time belittling other women (what she said to Dee, calling Gabriella “mystery vagina past its sell by date” and possibly pimping out Lestat

Dee Pharma is just there to do drugs and have sex

Baby Jenks is just there to be a honey trap and be groomed by Bruce (which granted, isn’t a huge downgrade from the book, but she was an interesting Outsider POV character for modern vampires and their understanding of the bigger events at play/world building )

I’m legitimately kind of worried about how these writers are going to adapt Maharet and Mekare, characters whose book canon arcs include being sexually assaulted and mutilated, as well as Akasha who, while she is the one who ordered the assault on the twins, is also arguably a victim to Amel, Enkil and Marius in her own way (Also Pandora, though I doubt she is going to be a major player)
