expressing nonhumanity is (or at the very least can be) a very alternative, counter culture move. normative society limits people's self-expression, and one of the many things it prohibits is being animalistic. normative society puts humans on a pedestal and does everything it can to separate them from nature. being alterhuman is fundamentally going against that system by blurring those very lines it constructed

now, for involuntary alterhumans, expressing oneself is often a need, not a want

but there really are just mfs out there who choose to be unapologetically feral, not because they feel it in their core, necessarily, but because they want to

they actively aid the broader alterhuman community in propagating nonhuman self-expression and help us challenge the system, not because it's their only option, but because they saw it as an option and thought it was interesting enough to dedicate themselves to it

and that's so fucking punk!!!

we should be more thankful for our otherlinker, otherpaw, furry, and all our siblings in adjacent communities for popularizing our way of living, not because they needed to, but because they wanted to

they are so incredibly important, and we can't just forget that for the sake of "validity". they don't make us "look silly", they make us fucking stronger as a movement

I KNOW about killing pests, that’s unfortunately necessary, other way our crops wouldn’t be enough to feed us. Unlike hunting, which is freely murdering animals (unless you live in a highly not urbanized area and have no choice, which I doubt).

You’re murdering living beings for your joy while supermarkets are already full of food.

Idk since when hunting is humane, but ig if you consider it such try being chased and then trapped or shot, tell me if you like it since it’s soooo humane.

i raise and butcher and occasionally hunt my own meat and the way it is demonized in the alterhuman blows my mind. i kill my own meat because of my prey drive, its the only thing that makes the urges go away yet i am treated like an outsider and a monster for alleviating my biggest ailments. everyone talks about prey drive and some even has urges to actually kill animals but when i actually kill animals it is treated like the ultimate sin. i just wish people could understand that if i don’t kill my food id do much worse. prey drive isn’t all puppies chasing squirrels it can be gross but some of us need the gross to live.

I think you missed the part where everyone is talking about prey drive but also saying how you should be able to CONTROL it because being an alterhuman is no excuse for hurting wildlife.

You live in a society that can fully sustain you without you having to murder living beings. Deciding to do so anyway is cruel.

realizing my wolf shifts are more doggy than wolfy. I always thought I was a “domesticated” wolf since I live with humans and that’s what was making me more doggy, but I don’t know anymore. Today I was on the beach and there were two huge dogs, looking like german shepherds but bigger, bulkier and with longer tails and their sight made me immediately shift, I wanted to run to them barking to say hi😭 also they pawprints on the sand looked so much like mine!!! Will do some research on big dog breeds (especially the ones shaped like wolves) to see if any resonate. If you know what kind of dog breed I might have met today please tell me!!

I wish you people would understand that “silly wolp :3” stuff has no place in conservation and if your rebuttal to somebody villainizing a wolf for killing animals or livestock is “wolves don’t kill livestock.” Or “wolves are good guys look how cute and friendly this wolfDOG in a video is look” you are actually actively perpetuating wolf villainization. If we judge the wolf, or any wild animal, but especially something that kills other animals off of human morals, we have no choice but to conclude that the wolf is a villain. Wolves DO kill livestock. Wolves kill each other. Wolves kill wild animals. Wolves aren’t good guys. They aren’t bad guys either. We have to judge the wolf based on its ecological role and its necessity to a healthy environment as well as inherent traits about the animal like their social intelligence, endurance, persistence, etc. we cannot fight fire with cutesy sort of nicer fire. It’s still fire. When you judge an animal that is not a human on human morality, it will ALWAYS lead to demonizing.

This whole fucking issue would end so much faster if people would stop responding to people judging the morality of wolves with more morality judgement on the positive side instead of negative. This will never stop until people start popping back with actual evidence and explain that wolves are necessary because they belong in the wild and the ecosystem evolved in tandem with them for millions of years and that killing and slaughtering animals because they are doing what they evolved to do is cruel.

“Wolves don’t kill livestock. Wolves are good and sweet and friendly.” Can be refuted with real actual evidence in a couple of seconds. You’re literally validating these people by playing their game.

Hey just a quick little psa reminder that the radqueer community is actively continuing to grow at a very alarming rate, and we should all probably be slightly more aware about how to deal with them because this community goes way beyond just stupid internet discourse and can legitimately put vulnerable people in very real danger.

Out of curiosity i checked radqueer tag here on tumblr (the primary platform for the rqc) maybe 5ish months ago and it was sitting at 10k followers. I checked again earlier today and it's currently at 13k, so yes it is currently growing. I don't say this to fear monger or anything, I absolutely do not believe radqueers have any actual chance of normalizing the things they support on any significant scale irl, anyone who tries to say otherwise is very out of touch with reality. However, the online spaces the community inhabits do, without a doubt, harbor abusers and predators, and create an environment that is ideal for grooming to occur. Radqueer discord servers often state that they are "safe spaces" for both pedophiles and minors. I have seen a lot of radqueers advocating their beliefs that kids can consent to romantic/sexual relationships with adults, that incest should be decriminalized, that it's okay to be a fascist so long as you're "doing it in a queer way" (whatever the fuck that means), that sex offenders should not face any legal or social repercussions for their crimes, and more. What's worse is that the majority of radqueers are kids, from what Ive seen most are between 12-15. These are kids who feel alone and outcasted in their real lives, either because their families are abusive or neglectful, they're queer and live somewhere hostile towards them, they're neurodivergent and struggle to connect with peers, or all three. They turn to the radqueer community because they don't feel like they have anywhere else to go, and from there they are pulled deeper into the ideology.

This most definitely isn't a call to action to go harass radqueers. All Im saying is that if you have a kid, a younger sibling/relative, a friend, or really anyone who might be part of a marginalized group of people and feeling isolated and misunderstood, please check in on them. Look for potential red flags like kandi or pins with pride flags you don't recognize or spending large amounts of time on social media and being secretive about their accounts. Basically all Im saying is that we should stay vigilant and be willing to offer help to those who need it, because large amount of these people are victims themselves.

As someone who is fully and completely nonhuman on every level, you have to care about alterhumans who are still human to some extent.

And attributing the things terrible people have done to innate flaws of humanity itself is to absolve them of responsibility. It is not "human nature," it's not anything about humanity whatsoever, it's choices those people made that hurt the world.

Plus self identified "misanthropic alterhumans" have a tendency to ignore their own role in perpetuating systemic biases. You think because you're not a human you're above humanity, that you can't possibly be a bigoted shithead. News flash: misanthropy is bigotry.

It's bigotry because it pins the blame for the world's ills on some nebulous human nature instead of the people who actually perpetuate this shit. You are blaming the oppressed for their oppression.

I sympathize with and don't shame misanthropic alterhumans for their feelings, because I know they usually come from negative things, such as frustration with the state of the world and adverse experiences with people

but I couldn't agree more that it shouldn't belong in the alterhuman community

not only is misanthropy exclusionary towards humanmore, demihuman, etc. members of the alterhuman community and bigoted in nature (yes, even if humans are a privileged group)

but most importantly, we have to remember that if we want things to improve, we have to work with humans, not against them

I think as a physical and biological therian kinrad is honestly a really hateful and unneeded movement. Otherpaws genuinely are not harming anyone, they are simply just playing with species expression the same way literally MILLIONS of others play with gender expression. If it happened in India, it will happen to your country. Do not turn a blind eye to the politics in your own nation. If you do not violently remove fascism or ethno-nationalism from your country, they'll pick you off one by one.

if you have twitter and live outside of India, definitely do not tag @/BJP4India and flood their twitter with demands for a repeal. That could cause international pressure on the government to reconsider its decisions, which I totally cannot endorse at all.

Spread the news around, let there be an international outcry. Stand in support of the millions of lives needlessly ruined in India.
