Never challenge an autistic person to Mario Kart, Kyle 😔

@crlrulesart is the creator of the boy and the girl is my OC! Since they’re both kids of Murdoc I knew a crossover was in order. I had a blast drawing him and his hair especially. His color palette is really well rounded as well!

Anyway here it is! Sorry it took so long! I originally sent it as an ask but it got deleted by tumblr so oops my bad! I had a lot of fun thinking about how they’d interact together and I hope Kyle wasn’t too out of character. I just kinda felt like he was a sore loser kind of kid. Anyway I hope you like it and don’t mind a little OC slop with your fanart! I might make more if you’re okay with it, since Kyle is your OC ofc! Thanks for letting me draw him!!

I just wanted to pop in again and say I honestly really respect the hustle of working so hard on this character and it STILL has inspired me to work on my own! It’s a really REALLY fun project and I always enjoy seeing more of it!!

I do have a question though since I hopped in your asks! What’s some stuff abt April you would like to share? Can we know some more about her and her relationship with Kyle (or according to the Lorebook from awhile ago, lack thereof now 💀)?

April has a really fun story behind her actually!! When i first joined the fandom in 2016 my friend and I used to ship our ocs. Around covid we lost touch, but I srsly loved her oc April so i STOLE HER 💀💀 (we've since gotten back in touch and she said i could have April atp she had been mine for nearly 6 years)

But April's lore is always a WIP for me cuz she's always changing. She's a non gorillaz-gorillaz oc. She exsists in that world but dosn't serve a purpose to the band/have any relationships with them. She's got her own band she's working on and is in a diff art style usually. BUT as it stands right now she's a girl who grew up in showbiz trying to bridge a child acting career into a successful music career. She takes the opportunity to do some backing vocals on Song Machine/ Cracker-island when she meets kyle and he's just smitten with her. Kyle would've done anything to get with her at the time so they "drink the cool-aid." and fell for eachother in a very immature and manic way. They're the Arianna Grande and Pete Davidson of my Gorillaz au. They're immediately attached at the hip and seriously in a relationship ALL of cracker island. Murdoc uses kyle to get April to sign to the Kong label so he can control her career and get her to join The Last Cult, while also using April to bait Kyle into being in the cult to mend their familial relationship. Personality wise April is very Rachel Berry-eque. She will do whatever it takes to further her career even when her judgment is clouded by being 19yrs old and in love for the first time. She's pretty high strung and stressed out by type B personality's. Her romantic/social choices read as questionable. because despite being a huge planner and high strung she's deeply impulsive and easily swayed. She just wants to do the right thing. In reality she's just undiagnosed and because she's famous nobody really notices (except kyle he notices everything abt her) Since cracker Island she's put out an Ep with her Pop Punk band "Mouth" and is curving ky who wants to get back together post finding himself after tripping in India 🧘‍♀️

Kyle isnt really a sona or self insert in anyway. He'a my opposite in alot of ways he's like a peer really a personified version of a gen z arrogant man. I wanted to do my take on the next generation as being very disinterested in the hustle. Kyle just wants to inherit Murdoc's money. He's a foil to Murdoc in a-lot of ways, he's very similar but significantly more charming. In a douche timothee chalamet way. A-lot of how i draw him is inspired by like frat boy c*ke head harry styles, Justin Bieber, Jackass/viva la bam, 10's skating culture. For his earlier phases like plastic beach I'm super inspired by Normal Rockwell paintings.

The tattoo on his wrist is to match me😜 cuz we're pals but also mine is a Marina and the diamonds tattoo 💀 I hope this answered ur question well 🤧🫶🏻
