"EVERYONE IS INVITED" suggests @convergencecon as this year's theme. and yet! the picture on the inside of the souvenir program booklet—which that people use to navigate the con all weekend—is this:

i was sent this because i am a fan of the series (and specifically wyll/astarion) by a black fan who hasn't played the series. immediately, i understood the wtf-ness of this. they and all con goers have to encounter throughout the entire weekend the image of a black man in a cage, being laughed at by a white man (who should be able to get him out). i get the ciritcal fail joke of it, but (1) there's never a moment in game when someone is caged and (2) it still leaves people (esp those out of the loop) looking at a black man in a damn cage.

a distasteful image already, and then you add in the layer of bringing in popularity and the VAs. wyll is the least popular origins. the creators think he's boring and don't like him, and they push out official animated shorts that frustrate many wyll fans for their takes on the character. in fan content he is constantly pushed aside for white characters who aren't even playable in group shots. his VA also gets overlooked on panels, in content about bg3, and in terms of viewership post-game release.

and then while he's down you had to make the other dialogue also dunking on him. why kick a man when he's down (and in a cage)?

CVG usually puts a lot of effort into accessibility, and there are clear, printed guidelines about what counts as harassment and how to report it. the first core value is "we believe in treating ourselves, each other, and our diverse community with respect." but this is an instance where you failed to build an inclusive community.

It's so unfortunate that right now Kenya doesn't want us anymore 💔, recently we had a dialogue with officials and they openly informed us that we're no longer accepted in Kenya and as am talking we're remaining 7 LGBT refugees in kakuma camp, unfortunately we haven't gotten any means of resources to help us relocate 💔 and any time soon they promised to check door to door, so we're all in fear of what may happen next! We need to raise 175,000ksh equivalent to 1,150USD.

I uploaded the Splatoon 3 Side Order OST

I just added the Side Order OST to my Splatoon 3 OST game rip which you can look up here

As always these are direct rips from the game, converted to flac and normalized.

This rip also includes the overworld and tower foyer tracks which had to be recorded in-game since these tracks are not stored as music files but rather - from what I understand - the game mixes these tracks live by having each instrument emit its sound from the visual elements that represent the sound.

To make it special I recorded these tracks in surround sound and then tried mixing these channels with a spatial audio mixing tool to emulate the "3D" effect from each instrument playing from a different location. (Mind you I'm not super experienced with mixing like that so it might not be optimal)

I also uploaded every other Splatoon CD release if you're interested!

Edit: I am very stupid and was looking only in the folder within the game files that had the Jukebox versions of the music and not the folder with actual Side Order data. That would be the place where the Elevator tracks between floors would be, which I completely forgot here. I'm gonna add these soon. It's also likely the different segments of the hubworld and foyer tracks are there.

I updated the Drive with the new, complete rip of the OST, check it out!

Since the track order is different now you'd have to delete the old files if you already downloaded them.

Also keep in mind the track names of music which isn't given in the jukebox in-game are not official, I just made them up

This drawing turned out a little more serious than I had originally intended. I get so many comments about using light mode for my computer and phone that it became the inspiration for some new artwork!
