I honestly thought the obx writers were going in the direction of kie figuring out she was a lesbian this season. It would add up because when ever things get physical with a guy that she cares about, who probably ticks all the boxes for her, she shuts down and seems to be uncomfortable. she seemed to be attracted to John B in season one, they flirted, but when he kissed her she wasn’t into it and realised she didn’t like him in that way. This season she was hot and cold with pope and was pushing him away after their kiss at the end of season one and seemed to be following the advice of others when it came to giving their relationship a chance. That brings us to the morning after she had sex with pope, when she felt nothing after their “perfect” first time having sex with one of her best friends who she loves I honestly thought that would be the moment when she realised that she might be into girls and was just experiencing compulsive heterosexuality with John B and Pope.

Hot Take: the only people who should be allowed to use the term “White Feminist” are woc feminists calling out instances of racism and double standards in the feminist practice of white women.

If you are male, YOU DON’T GET TO USE THAT TERM. Feminism - any kind of feminism - is not something for you to opine on, compartmentalize, rank the validity of. It’s something made by females for females, and your job, as a male, is simply to listen and learn. NOT dictate whether or not a woman’s opinion is valid based on whether you think she’s ‘white’.

If you are a white woman and a feminist and trying to talk shit about White FeministsTM, make sure you point that finger to yourself first, since you’re part of that group too. Take a second and think: what is it about this other woman that makes her a ‘white feminist’ while I, apparently, am not one? (protip: it might just be that you disagree with her)

“White Feminism” is not a sub-type of feminist theory that just happens to include every feminist idea you don’t agree with. It’s feminism that seeks to defend and increase the rights of white women at the expense of the rights of women of color.

So unless you’re using that term explicitly to talk about racism within feminist politics (and you better know where you’re coming from if you do), then chances are, you’re just mocking a woman’s feminism for its own sake, and covering it up under the guise of it being ‘white’ because that’s the only scapegoat you’re allowed to have in leftist politics. But guess what, your thinly veiled misogyny is still showing.
