NATASHA WEEK YAYYYYY !!!
This is for day one: young nat
@natasharomanoffweek
I can’t say this enough, even as a full grown adult, a fully degreed librarian, who has read many things, many types of books.
A Series of Unfortunate Events is masterful.
It pulls from all worlds of knowledge, all variations of literature, religions, philosophies, cultures, even cuisine. It’s not just a fictional story of a secret organization and some orphans, it’s a metaphor for censorship, for the corruption of the justice system, the neglect of the foster system, the questionable nature of public education, but the equally complex nature of sheltering yourself from harsh truths, even if those truths could also help you.
The morality of the neutrality of librarians (a phrase which here means, “whether or not a librarian should give a patron whatever they ask for, even if what they want is misinformation”). The endless search for answers in a confusing world. The rather bleak understanding that every generation basically acts the same way as the previous ones, unaware of the neverending cycle. If there are really such things as “good” and “bad” people. And the eventuality and unavoidability of death.
And Snicket, as the reader’s guide, never tells you what to think, only what certain terms mean, and leaves the reader to come to their own conclusions. He trusts our own intelligence.
I cannot properly convey how much I appreciate Daniel Handler for putting this series into the world.
oh culty vfd how i love u
Marcus is my favourite ADoW character which is NOT what I expected when we first met him lol
(I'm also more invested in the Oxford subplot which is a problem considering the show isn't about that...)
HILLTOPPER - TWIABP&IANLATD
this is like. Mainly parallels between Carl & Merritt and them wanting/getting justice

not wanting to be outdone by the benders in the gang, sokka invents the flamethrower, the supersoaker, the leaf blower, and the concept of throwing rocks at people
Hi I tried changing some colour settings here and there but I don’t know which one looks better
Due to popular demand here are more pictures of the amigurumi Hiccup:
And a few details:
Stay tuned for he will soon receive company!
Hiccup "If there's one chance to settle this without bloodshed, I have to try" haddock shouting "IM GONNA KILL YOU" at Dagur because he thought he poisoned his dragon
HTTYD book plots simplified
book 1: Vikings Can’t Read
book 2: Vikings Can Read, But Choose To Be Stupid Anyway
book 3: Romans Suck
book 4: Eat A Potato Or Die Trying
book 5: Man Who Is Good At Everything Becomes World’s Worst Assassin
book 6: One (1) Viking Can Read
book 7: World’s Most Deadly Swimming Race
book 8: Ouch
book 9: Revolution Begins, But Not In The Way Anybody Wanted
book 10: Sometimes, Family Is A Three-Headed Dragon
book 11: Maybe Snotlout’s Not So Bad
book 12: OUCH
HTTYD book things movie watchers are missing out on
(this is just propaganda to make you read the books)
Fishlegs is sassy. Possibly even more sassy than hiccup
Hiccup blows up the red death, while Still Inside the red death
There are actually tribes in the archipelago outside Berk and the Berserks
Toothless is a horrible small creature that regularly wakes Hiccup up at 3 AM and eats spoons
Camicazi
Hiccup realizes he’s left handed and immediately learns how to sword fight
Snotlout actively tries to murder Hiccup for about 11 books
There is a real character named Big-Boobied Bertha who’s main quality is her boobs that have killed before (and will kill again)
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock I and II are given backstories and are actually super important
Hiccup is shot in the foot with an arrow that was once In A Potato and becomes immune to every poison
The main characters spend a whole book traveling to America, only to immediately turn around the second they make it to shore
Toothless “cock-a-doodle-doos” like a rooster when he’s happy
Hiccup has a second dragon named Windwalker who’s basically just an extremely nervous borzoi
The Beserkers do monthly human sacrifices
Hiccup locks a witch in a cabinet and then beats her at chess
Every once in awhile Fishlegs gets to go on a murderous rampage
Hiccups shoots a man in the ass. While on skis
Toothless often wears a very small fur coat
Hiccup, Fishlegs, and Camicazi win a swimming race by coming back to shore three months later
Camicazi owns a dragon that speaks Norse, is a pathological liar, and changes color like a mood ring
The Vikings are actually pirates
Toothless stops a volcano eruption (after it’s already happened) by throwing a rock into it
Berk owns one ☝️ book that consists of two ✌️ sentences
Dragons have their own language that Hiccup taught himself
Hiccup trips and falls into becoming the boy of prophecy while moaning and groaning the entire way
Fishlegs writes a love letter to the heiress of another tribe, which leads to him and Hiccup becoming human sacrifices
Valhallarama (Hiccup’s mom) is a 6-foot buff war hero
Hiccup manages to trick his father and village into believing he is an entirely different boy by putting on an eyepatch
I HATE when people don't break up their paragraphs. because 1. that's not multiple paragraphs, that's just one paragraph 2. why is it so close together?? did I accidentally read that line already. oh wait no it just confused me because of how close the words are 3. its confusing and makes me dizzy SPLIT UP YOUR PARAGRAPHS!!
rewatching httyd1 and its always just so wholesome that every single one of hiccups methods of getting the dragons down is to show them love. the sweet spot, the dragonnip, light reflection game.. like yeah. that boy’s whimsical and full of love and even when he has a mace he chooses to tickle a deadly nadder down. love him so much
You know now that I think of it toothless from how to train your dragon was just like a big black cat you can't deny it bc he was mean at first in the first movie but after the second movie he was Soo cuddly and close to hiccup just like a cat also he has black fins and green eyes exactly like a typical black cat
it's still my favorite httyd1 detail how hiccup made toothless' tailfin using parts from tools that were originally meant to kill dragons. the very things used to fight dragons (sword and shield), he repurposed to help one.
