idk if i'm alone in this but is it me or is kingdom hearts just profoundly sad? the entire first game you're chasing after your friends trying to save them and the world and like donald and goofy are with you, but it's clear they don't see you as much as a peer as they do a charge and you have to leave behind almost every friend you make and the ones you do get to take with you will only stick around to their neck of the woods. there's just such a sense of loneliness present in every moment; and then in the second game you're introduced to Roxas who is definitely a contender for most depressing character ever; cause he's not even a real person and only gets to live this half life as long as Sora is asleep or incapacitated or is having a moment or whatever and when you defeat Axel as Sora you find out the only thing that kept him sane was the fires of his friendship with Roxas who didn't even remember him at the beginning of kh2 and ISNT EVEN REAL ANYMORE AND AHHHHH
