“Strange.” The vampire repeated, pursing his own lips for a second, he knew exactly what she was talking about, the weakening of the veils and the fact that this once sleepy town was now full of supernaturals, himself included. “It’s supposed to be a castle, I doubt I’d be able to miss it but thank you all the same.”
‘ then again, the world has always been a strange place. ’ angels may not have fallen from the sky before recent weeks but humans had done their own fair share of crazy things. she’d been around to see it happen. destruction of entire habitats & the killing of many living creatures. perhaps the veils breaking was penance. that didn’t mean allora wanted them to stay open though.
as the man continued to speak, allora raised an eyebrow. hotels, castles. it made for such a trivial conversation. ‘ a castle … is it yours ? ’
“What a tragedy.” Lorcan drawled then set the towns newspaper down on the bench he had picked it up from, he then pulled his jacket around himself and took a look around the town, now he just had to find where the werewolves were hiding, torture them a little, especially his brother in law. “Excuse me.” he stopped someone as they were passing by, it was overcast enough for Lorcan to show his face even though he possessed a daylight ring, he still hated being in the sunlight. “I was hoping you could point the way to the nearest hotel?” his American accent had an edge of Irish to it, something he hadn’t ever been fully able to get rid of even after all these years.
everything seemed to be a tragedy in the human world. whenever anything bad happened it was labelled such a thing. in her many years of life, allora had discovered that rarely were things true tragedies. a body was found in the woods. death was a part of life though. she had always assumed that humans were used to that, given their short life spans. but it all just once again confirmed allora’s suspicions that there were still things about humans that she did not understand. like their inability to figure things out for themselves.
taking a twisted sense of pleasure in disappointing the man, allora shrugged, ‘ i’m afraid your hope is misplaced. i am just as much a stranger in this town as you appear to be. ’ she paused, her lips pursed ‘i suppose there are many STRANGE people loitering in these parts nowadays.’ her eyes lingered on him for a moment, noting his warped accent & body language.
‘ hopefully one of them can help you find you hotel. ’
He had to get his party animal out sometimes, and he hadn’t been out for what felt like quite a while, but the more he let go the better he felt so much better for being able to relax. Perhaps he hadn’t learned much, but while he couldn’t turn water into wine he could turn whiskey into dance moves. “Come on! Join in the fun!”
@veilsstarters
evidently, it didn’t matter what species they came from, the male kind were all idiots. there was a reason the greatest faeries of all time ( one of which, she considered herself ) were female. it had once been said that the male brain developed slower than the female. allora had been around long enough to see that proven time & time again. so her only response was an eye-roll.
‘ we have different definitions of fun. ’ she challenged him, ‘ personally, i prefer to play games rather than make a fool out of myself. ’
the person had come out of nowhere. one minute, allora had turned a corner, her henchman by her side as he always seemed to be. next minute, she’s almost knocked over. the stranger startling her & vice versa. she gathered her composure once again, straightening her skirt. only to find composure was dead.
the fey she’d adopted as her latest guard only weeks prior was standing with his spear outstretched, waffling on about disrespecting the queen. this is what she got for taking on a foetus barely old enough to hold the weapon. finding the bridge of her nose, she paused in frustration. taking a moment before turning & shoving him backwards. it was an unfortunate situation for all involved. now, allora had to cover for his mistake.
‘ i do apologise. he’s just OVERLY PROTECTIVE of me. ’
for that reason & that reason alone, his blood would stain her hands that evening.
Walking into the village, she looked around and wondered why she had decided to come here. She was perfectly content back home with her animals and job but something called to her to come here. “So, England,” she sad, walking towards one of the pubs, “where people drive on the wrong side of the road and fries are called chips. Exciting”
she sensed sarcasm in the strangers voice. a tone allora was familiar with, so often using it herself to get away with the faeries being unable to lie complication she frequently ran into. tilting her chin up so that her eyes were angling the sky, the fey squinted in confusion.
‘ hmmm, i too can’t see the attraction. ’ members of her court had abandoned her for the piece of the human soil, currently beneath her feet. hence the distain she held for it. turning to the other, she raised an eyebrow.
“ tell me what you know about this town’s churchyard. ”
it’s a simple enough request, worded simply and spoken simply, french tongue delicately wrapping each syllable. it’s casual, if you will– but his voice is deep; dark, and something about his gentle conversation reads more of a demand, a threatening squeeze around the trachea, forcing that information to ooze. without physically doing so of course, jacques’ hand instead carries a cigarette to feed his undead lungs. it gave him a reason to breathe.
few things ever caught allora by surprise. the wind whispered to her; warning of a man approaching. nature being her most loyal of allies, as per usual. she let him come. a victim of her own intrigue & fearlessness. she had yet been convinced the latter was misplaced in the human world. even as she felt a tightening on her neck.
‘ i’m afraid i won’t be able to do that...’
she waved a hand in front of her own neck, opening her own airway, breaking whatever charm the other was attempting failing to impress her with. did people simply forget that faeries possessed their own kind of magic ? her eyes narrowed, perhaps it was simply a case of ignorance. in which case, she felt inclined to enlighten the male. a small step forward warranted a hint of a grin.
‘ you see, i do not know of this churchyard you speak of. ’ pale fingers tucked a strand of loose hair behind her ear, revealing the point they formed. ‘ & cannot tell you otherwise, even if i did. ’
“Oh hell,” Mercedes muttered after coming in the now empty bar of her club and plopped herself down. She had everything in order-from the liqueur license to the foodservice, to getting the building checked out. Now that she was close to opening, it felt like it was going to crash-she didn’t have a band for an opening. She’d open nightclubs before, where she’d had bands like Motley Crue and Slipknot opening for her. Now that she’s here in Wildemount, there was no local metal bands around here. “If anyone has any ideas for a band to come here to play, now would be a bloody good time,” she said out loud to no one in particular. When her only answer was complete silence, she got up and went to the bar to fix herself a drink. “We’re closed,” Mercedes said to her guest once she heard the doors open. “Come back when it’s open or torn down.”
allora liked to wander. she’d always found it very comforting, even back when she had been a child many moons ago. there was something about the sound of her own footsteps that gathered her thoughts. almost as if she was pacing. how human of her.
curiosity had lead her to a devils playground. not quite what she imagined when she first saw the words. it was a bar of sorts. likely using the name as a reference to the amount of human sins that would occur within the walls of this place. faeries had places like this too. usually more populated. her eyes focused on a figure at the bar who appeared to be addressing her.
- - - // * (ELLA RAE SMITH, UNKNOWN, SHE/HER) We have been waiting for a while, but ALLORA was finally spotted in the village today. People heard whispers that they are a FAERIE that is hellbent on getting involved in fixing the veils. Will they succeed? Only time can tell. Until then we will keep a close eye on them as they listen to A LITTLE WICKED BY VALERIE BROUSSARD. (kaz, she/her, twenty one, gmt)
* ru paul voice * hello hello hello! i’m kaz, i’m twenty one & from the uk. starting a new uni in about a week so decided that now was the best time to join a new rp group. bc why not eyyy? anyway, first time in a supernatural group despite writing applications for many in the past. aka bear with me whilst i get to grips with this style of rp & my new character allora. here’s just a list of things to know about her
allora is from a long line of faerie rulers. her family have kind of run the seelie court since it’s inception. she is the current seelie queen. her age is a complete mystery to most. she’s technically around 200-400 years old but uses seelie magic to keep herself looking the way she did when she was 20.
was born a twin. but killed her sister in a duel to decide who would become the next heir back when their mother was still in charge of the court.
heavy rumours that she killed her mother have been floating around since she became queen. in fact, it was a demon who did that, but allora doesn’t mind people thinking differently.
allora isn’t her real name, but it’s the one she’s gone by ever since she was a lil bub. no one knows her real name as it means they would have power over her . (hint: it’s adria)
she’s known for being quite self serving. if a war or battle will not directly benefit her people then she has no interest in it. prefers to stick to the shadows but now the veils are open and some of her people are venturing out into the world she needs to change tactics.
doesn’t tend to do her own dirty work but can if she needs to. her magic is stupidly strong because she’s ancient & all. she also knows how to kick ass if necessary.
wants to close the veils to stop her people leaving her court. essentially since they opened there have been several attacks on the seelie court by demons and she wasn’t able to protect them from it because it came out of no where so people have started to question her. she could be swayed to keep them open if the right offer comes along.
has made a fair few enemies with people throughout her life. her habit of not helping people & walking away from battles isn’t a favourite among the supernatural world.
dead pan snarker. as fae folk can’t lie she’s developed her own sarcastic way of saying everything so that no one knows if what she’s saying is true.
has no interest in producing and heir therefore never has physical relationships with men but is all for women
her fc is the beautiful & CRIMINALLY underused ella rae smith. seriously, i think i might be one of the first to use her. she has maybe ten gifs in the tag so i’m making my own. i have about 80 atm but plan on making more when i can so don’t be concerned if you see me reusing gifs.
some wc
faes who have once been in her court or are still in it
anyone with a grudge against her, maybe for leaving a battle of something
people under her spell
someone that knows her name and therefore has power over her
legit anything you can think of
don’t be afraid to hmu with anything plot wise or if you just wanna talk, i’m probably gonna crawl into the dms of anyone who likes this post bc i enjoy human interaction. can’t wait to start writing with you guys though!
