i knew they hated it i knew from the start but it's one thing to notice acting differences from someone who you know knows the character they play and literally transforms into them while acting even down to facial expressions and the way they hold themselves, and to not see those things suddenly and it's like you're looking at a devastated actor is like! hm! that seems deliberate. and then to get literal confirmation in words is another. our best friends got killed in front of all of us.

Remember in Feb 2025 when the first pics of Good Omens 3 leaked and it was DT and MS in those fuck ass wigs and everyone was freaking out about them turning human but then there was an interview with MS where he was saying his character “needed to go into disguise at some point in the ep” and he was excited about that and we collectively were like “phew maybe that explains the fuck ass wig”- and then in the movie Aziraphale goes into disguise as a demon…. Like does anyone else remember this and did anyone else make the connection and have a stomach drop moment? Bc if I didn’t have the ending spoiled for me on tumblr that would have been the moment I put my head in my hands.

Okay sorry for heated rivalry posting again but like. In the GO trailer where you see Crowley’s teary face and Aziraphale smiling. FOR SURE thought we were gonna get a scene where Aziraphale does a Shane Hollander style love confession of planning out their future at the south downs for the next forever years and like Ilya, Crowley is all teary and kisses him a bunch and tells him he loves him. 🤡🤡🤡 that was the only logical thing that could happen in my mind when I watched the trailer for the first time. gay Canadian TV has done irreversible damage to my brain and my clowning abilities ig.

Good Omens 3 really said "lets kill our gays, not even show them kissing, and then placate fans with a coffeeshop AU of a couple of fags who look like them but aren't the characters our fans have come to love." Bad ending lampshaded behind charm.

One thing that really bothered me about the GO finale was that a lot of it felt like they were trying to bring up “oh my god!! They said the thing!! Remember that from before!!??!!1!1!1!?” reactions. It was like fan service without the fan service.

When Gabriel tells Aziraphale to prepare himself for the upcoming war and Aziraphale laments, "I'm soft!" He wasn't talking about his physique. Angels can appear however they want to, and their power isn't based on how muscular their corporations are.

He means he is a SOFT PERSON. As in, not hardened, not cynical, not violent or cruel. He wants to believe in the power of love and kindness. He doesn't want a fight.

Making him an important general in the Great War was such a confusing narrative choice to me. There is nothing in S1 or S2 to suggest he ever held that kind of role.

Yes, Aziraphale is a bit of a renegade, lying to God about the flaming sword, finding loopholes around every rule, all in the name of HELPING people. He wants peace when everyone else is screaming for war.

The most warrior-like thing we ever see him do prior to S3 is when he blows up his halo to protect Nina and Maggie in the bookshop. But A) he was defending the innocent, which is what Principalities and guardian angels DO, and B) it was both a last resort and a non-lethal solution.

I wanted to see a badass Aziraphale, yes. But an obedient soldier? A general? What was that even about??

what would have been a satisfactory ending:

they scrapped all of [redacted]'s original script and started over

it was light and humorous all the way through

az was not treated as dumb or naïve for taking that place in heaven

az and crowley made up in the beginning of the film and were a team trying to stop the end times for the rest of the finale

the message would have been "we need to fix what is broken, not burn it to the ground"

Az and Crowley would show some form of affection towards each other, like a hug or maybe a kiss

Az and Crowley decided they didn't need god anymore, nor follow her rules

the metatron would have been dealt with properly

what would have been a PERFECT ending:

Az gave Crowley hope by explaining that they just need to fix what's broken, not start over, and Crowley admitted Az had a good reason for going to heaven in the first place

Az and Crowley say "I love you"

Az and Crowley being pretty much "useless", while jesus and the humans are doing the important bits by "being fundamentally people"

the plot was solved when heaven and hell teamed up against humanity (including Az and Crowley who's now explicitly on "their own side: humanity's side.") and Team Earth convinced Team Celestial how stupid this whole charade had always been

god had NOT been controlling everything this whole time and had always been more like a narrator of the universe, rather than one affecting the story

everyone had always had free will
