Flowers ~ Closed rp with scxssoring
It was a beautiful day, really. Easily the warmest it had been all year. Children pestered their parents for ice cream, couples walked hand-in-hand down the park path, and countless joggers made tracks through the park. Among them, the young woman in the long dress seemed out of place. Yet, no one seemed to pay any attention to her as she sat under the tree.
It wasn't just the outfit she wore, the long skirt and sleeves paired with the high neck that covered far too much skin to the bright sun above. It was the look on her face that truly set her apart. Still as a statue, she wore a slightly disgruntled expression. She held a single flower close to her heart, but seemed to take no joy out of it. In truth, that was simply her default expression. It hadn't always been that way, but the young woman had been through more than what anyone could possibly know.
She leaned against the tree trunk, eyes scanning over the people who walked past. She was looking, although she didn't know who she was looking for. Even the name, El, could have been lost to time. Still, the Masked Man seemed sure that El would make herself known eventually.
Of course. Because that worked just perfectly the first five times.
Lost in her own thoughts, she didn't notice the other girl approaching until she was standing in front of her. Rebecca looked up at her, face unchanging. "May I help you?" Even if her tone was slightly abrasive, her eyes were scanning over the girl. She was a bit older than the first candidates, but then again, she and Stella were quite a bit too old, as well. She didn't think age mattered much to the Masked Man.
Besides, she had noticed Rebecca, and that made her a likely candidate, in her mind, at least. She wasn't quite sure how this process worked, but she didn't think anyone was, not even the Masked Man. If he was, he would have found El on the first try, right?
