Tips for using Duolingo
I’ve heard a lot of people complain that duolingo isn’t useful for language learning, but I think a lot of people just don’t know how to beat utilize duolingo’s system. So I’m providing some tips on how best to use the app.
The important thing to realize is that Duolingo relies on intuitive learning. I know that intuitive learning can be frustrating and that many people prefer explicit instruction, but remember, you acquired at least your first language chiefly through intuitive learning!
Another thing to note is that Duolingo alone will not get you fluent in your target language, but no single resource will do that either. By using only Duolingo, I went from nothing to a B1 level in Spanish, which is certainly nothing to sniff at.
1. Everyday, do one lesson from each open skill. This way, as you unlock new skills, you’ll be practicing many concepts at the same time. I find this to be more effective than focusing on bringing one skill to gold before moving on, because this helps you to think about each skill in relation to each other, and I think helps to commit each skill to long term memory better.
2. For each new skill, during the first one of two lessons, try to pay attention to what the exercises are teaching you. Try to recognize patterns, write them down if necessary, and, if you’re feeling up to it, try to hypothesize the grammar rule being taught. It’s okay if you don’t want to or can’t figure out the rule, the important thing is that you’re trying to notice the patterns. This is the intuitive learning bit. After I’ve done one or two lessons, I go online to look up the grammar notes on duolingos website and sometimes on other sources. Like I said, one resource won’t get you a far as you want to go, so add in others.
That’s it! I know that this method takes patience and diligence, but learning this wat is really good exercise for your brain as well as a good way to study a language.

I was doing warm-up drabbles for the Fallen Hero: Rebirth discord server and @frozenabattoir requested Argentstep with a Sidestep of my choice, so I chose @remnantofahero‘s Shiloh because I love them and their dynamic with Argent.
I cheated with knowing fuckall about professional wrestling via using the wrestlers from Kim Possible, but honestly, Shiloh being a Pain King fan and Argent loving Steel Toe just Works(TM).
