On October 20, 2021 I married my best friend at Kapa'a, Hawaii on Kauai Island. It's exactly nine years since we had our first kiss and when we were officially "together". Contrary to common belief, marriage to us doesn't define love or even commitment. In my mind I already knew she was the one on the first day. And in reality, any valued relationship is something to tend to daily and something marriage papers don't help with. I made a promise to myself as a young teenager that I would never marry someone unless I proved first to myself that I had the means to provide and made one of two conditions being owning a home or having a degree as proof of my commitment and stability... weird kid, I know... but I don't take promises lightly even if it's to myself. For us, marriage is a celebration of the promise we made to be committed to each other nine years ago when the relationship began... and it also means I'm a jewelry guy and wear rings and stuff now. It's also a mischievous excuse to get our immediate families together since it has been way to long since we've seen them (thanks to covid). While not everyone, every person in these photos is someone important who has been there throughout our lives and of whom without we would not exist. I thank everyone for taking the time off to celebrate with us. 📸 Thanks to Nicolette and her husband at @fotopopkauai for taking these amazing photos (and video which I will post soon). 💐 A big thanks to Jessica, Hailey, Celeste, and Sarah at @kauaielopements who helped coordinate this and took the majority of my stress out of setting up this big day and you guys made it completely magical! 🏝 I also have to thank Chantry at @hukilau_kauai for setting up the location! 🙋♂️ And thank YOU for being an Instagram friend!
