The Delancey Brothers and their Ugly Cat
Me and @albertdoesnteatglass came up w these hcs while sleep deprived so yeet
So one day the Delancey brothers are walking home from a day of beating ppl up when a cat comes up to them, puts her kitten down, and runs away.
Morris tries to return the kitten, but the mama cat does it again.
They know they should just leave it there, but didn’t their own mom do the same to them?
So they take the kitten home
and name him beast bc they have a Reputation to uphold
This kitten is underfed, covered in fleas, and very angry
they manage to clean it off and feed it some milk
and they make it a lil nest in their room
When they have to go to work the next day they know they cant leave it
so oscar pops it in his shirt pocket
the newsies are heckin bamboozled bc why do the delanceys have a cat???
but they don’t mention it
as the kitten grows up it becomes apparent that this cat is Ugly As Sin
Its also hella mean and hisses at everyone but the delancey brothers
however it is very soft and nice and they love it more than life itself
morris stims by petting beast
as beast grows up he starts hanging out on the delancey brother’s shoulders like a parrot on a pirate
ok there is one person the cat likes besides the delanceys
its crutchie
every time he sees him beats runs over and purrs and rubs his face on crutchie
he does not like it one bit

to his surprise, morris shows him how to get beast to trust him and he pets him?

but turns out taking care of beast just helped the delanceys become better ppl
now they only beat up newsies if they call beast ugly

Crutchie: I get so depressed around Valentine’s Day. Race: What’s depressing about Valentine’s Day, Crutchie? Especially when you have someone to spend it with. Crutchie: Okay, first of all, I have to remember it. It’s not like Christmas when you have all month to think about it. I’m still cleaning up after Groundhog Day, and I turn around, and the mailman gives me a Valentine. Race: From who? Crutchie: From the mailman!
