He is a fucking asexual weirdo. But as much as it pains me to say this, he's my fucking asexual weirdo.
BARBIE 2023 | dir. Greta Gerwig
The problem with this rhetoric is the word "have".
Hello. We don't /have/ to do any of this.
You feel pressured by the way others want you to be and you've heard hundreds, thousands of opinions over your lifetime. /So have men/.
You want the true secret?
Stop subscribing to it and start listening to the same advice you've heard all your fucking life:
Be. Yourself.
You're always going to be hated by some. You're always going to be criticized. /You cannot please everyone/.
You may as well fucking enjoy yourself and your life instead of eating yourself alive FOR them.
Stop giving a fuck.
Bonus: the happier you are, the happier everyone who loves you will be. (Do be self aware though. That's /key/ to avoiding self-destruction.)
hey so this actually isn’t the point of that monologue or the movie at all. you know as well as i do that the things we “have” to do are things we’re expected to do by society in order to be taken seriously and respected. the second we stop doing these things we become disliked. and THAT is the point. saying “hey we actually don’t have to do any of these things” in response to the frustration about the pressure we feel to, in fact, do those things is a bit tone deaf.
No. Things we /have/ to do are things we /must/ do to survive.
Things we feel /pressured/ to do are entirely optional.
But people like you live in victim complexes. You will never understand, and now you /yourself/ try to undermine a message meant to /empower/.
Fuck off. You're exhausting.
girl shut the fuck up lmao

SUPERNATURAL || “Ghostfacers” 3x13
I've been telling myself that since the night I heard the child say it. I lie in bed night after night praying that it isn't true. But I know about it now. It's there. I don't know how, I don't know why. But I did love you! I do love you! I resented your plans to marry. Maybe because I wanted you. Maybe I've wanted you all these years. I couldn't call it by name before, but maybe it's been there since I first knew you.
