Cais knew that she had been avoiding making connections with Stefan’s family, but she had no idea if the betrothal was going to last. She didn’t want to push him too much especially with a marriage. Although she knew that putting it off wouldn’t change anything still though she wasn’t exactly looking out for him on her way to the kitchen in order to make some tea. She was turning around a corner when she ran into someone. “I’m so sorry!” She exclaimed quickly looking up at the man with wide eyes.

olympia reached out, touching the other keeping her stance thanks to the other. “oh no its okay,” she greeted, pushing her glasses up on her nose. “you seem a bit down, princess.” she didn’t mean to be blunt but there was something off about her eyes.

Cais knew that it was only a matter of time before someone called her out on it but she didn’t know how to hide how she was feeling. “I’ll be alright eventually,” She assured her hoping that she was right. “But I’m sure you have places to be.”

stefan let out a deep breath, and then another one. it was just hard, the past year and now… this? he didn’t know how to take it all in without smashing a window. “how old are you?”

"21 what about you?” She asked quietly wanting to make the conversation as light for him as he wanted even if she would have rather talk about the engagement but she knew better than to hope for that.

Charlotte walked the halls of the castle with a book in her hands. This was something she’d perfected at a young age–the ability to walk and read at the same time. Her eyes scanned the page, each word like a memory of a distant time and yet she had never lived it herself. It always felt that way, carried her off and landed her in a world different from her own. She loved being able to feel the wind as if it were rustling the end of her dress–even if she was standing indoors. Her fantasy came to an end when she very nearly flattened herself against a wall–or a person, who knew? She peeked over the edge of her book. “Sorry–guess I’m not used to this place yet.”

Cais was growing tired of hiding away, or was she just home sick? She couldn’t really tell. Although she did know that it didn’t help that she had yet to find people to surround herself with a new family to distract herself. She was trying to do her best to find a good balance between trying to find friends and keeping to herself. She had been stuck in her own head when she ran into another person as she raised her eyebrows looking at the red head, “I’m so sorry!” The Vietnamese princess quickly apologized. “I should have been paying more attention.”

one of the many things olympia would miss from her country was all the psychic one would pass within the limits of athens.  she never had a wish to visit one until well… she found out she was going to be a queen, and not a just a princess. she knew it more than likely would not be real but the 25 year old princess just needed something to calm her mind.

Cais was never one to break the rules but she felt helpless. With no one that she felt that she could even talk to much less trust. She needed an outlet and she had decided to explore a bit of the city. She hadn’t meant to run into anyone else though when she had physically ran into the other princess. “I am so sorry!” She exclaimed reaching out to steady the other woman in case she would fall.

stefan could only stare at the small women in front of him. he blinked, locking his jaw. “well,” he whispered, more to himself than the princess in front of him. he didn’t know how to take this.

“If you want I can speak to my parents about it,” she offered as she willed herself to not show any emotions as she stood there. She was tired and feeling completely alone, and now she had to face the fact there was a good chance he would want someone that wasn’t her.

“Akari no!” Akiko called, chasing her dog into the room and just barely managing to step on her leash to stop her before the Shiba Inu managed to bowl into Cais. “Sorry about that, she is just too friendly for her own good sometimes,” she said, picking the leash up and wrapping it around her arm a couple of times. 

Cais wasn’t bothered by the dog as she shifted to kneel on the floor in front of the excited dog and reaching up to tenderly rub behind her ears with a tender smile, “She is perfectly fine. After all if a dog needs to drown me in their love I think that’s a fairly good way to go don’t you?” She asked the other princess curiously.

“by all means, explain.”

“I mean I don’t know what part of we’re engaged to be married needs explaining but I’m happy to.”

Cais was struggling when it came to being so far from her family. She may not have always seen eye to eye with them but she had never gone so long without seeing them. She was trying to make herself feel better as she sat alone in a corner with a cup of tea in her hands.

stefan nodded, and moved towards the palace. his year in finding meant some of his princely manners had faded but not opening the door for her. “where are you from?” he asked, trying to keep the conversation flowing even though he was confused… as hell.

Cais truly thought that he had no idea about what was going on between them. “Has your mother told you about your arrangement?” She asked him curiously knowing that it was something she had to know but she nodded slowly, “I’m from Vietnam though. So you know this whole snow thing is a new experience.”

“I…honestly I don’t know when I figured it out, it’s like it was there all the time, y’know?” Seojun said after thinking it over for a minute. “And as for what I love most, can I just cop out and say everything?” he finished with a snicker. “Reason I haven’t told her is because I was so convinced she’d end up being married off to one of my brothers, I just…” His voice trailed off and he shrugged. , 

“I at least hope someday I do get to know what that’s like.” Although she was almost certain that she never would know what it was like. There was no sign that Stefan even saw her. “If that’s your honest answer then it’s not a cop out at all. But I am glad that it’s all working out for you.”

stefan wondered why she was not answering his question. but he would go along with it, and get the answers later. and somehow stranger danger didn’t even register with him. “you pick,” he decided, eyeing her.

“Considering you don’t seem to be a fan of the snow I think hot chocolate would probably be the best way to spend some time,” her smile may have been warm however she was already planning on calling her family and finding out if it all had been a joke.

“I like to think so,” Seojun said with a fond smile as he thought about his fiancee. Sure he would have rather decided to marry her on his own instead of getting pushed into it by his parents, but what could he do right? “Then again, I’ve been in love with her for the last couple years, but II haven’t told her yet…” he finished with a mutter. 

“Then that’s what matters. I hope that as many of us can be as happy as humanly possible,” Her face lit up though as she clapped her hands together, “You do? When did you figure it out? What do you love about her the most?” She knew that she was spitting out a bunch of questions but she was excited about the development.

“Skylar of Egypt,” Seojun said, fidgeting with one of his shirt sleeves. Granted the two of them had been friends since they were teenagers, but he was still a little nervous thinking about it. “Always thought she’d end up betrothed to one of my brothers, so imagine my surprise when my parents said they decided it’d be me.”

Of course there was also that whole ‘been in love with her for the last two years’ thing, but he was not about to mention that.

“It sounds as if it could be a good thing for you though. It helps that you at least knew of her enough that you thought she would end up being with your brothers. Hopefully though you can be happy with her,” It was truly all that Cais wanted for anyone around her considering that they were being forced into marriages. The romantic in her just wanted them all to find love.

“Wouldn’t be surprised,” Seojun chuckled, tucking his hands in his pockets. At her next question, he nodded. “Yeah sure,” he said with a nod as he fell into step beside her. “So who are you betrothed to if you don’t mind me asking?”

“Stefan of Austria,” she told him. Her recent engagement made her nervous but she hoped once she settled in to the castle and got to know Stefan it would go away. “What about you? Do you know who you’re engaged to?” She asked curiously

stefan did not know the meaning of fun anymore. the thought still brought a mixed feeling to his chest, but he took inventory of his body. or the body scan as his therapist called it. he repeated to himself what his body felt before he was able to move again. “what do you mean?” he asked again, but more softly this time.

“I was thinking about going sledging if you’re interested?” She asked him curiously. She knew that it could be a good idea to get out and away from everyone else and experience something new, at least for her. “Or if you want we can go get some hot cocoa? I personally think I would be happy with either option.”

Emmanuel found himself spending most of his time at the library, when he wasn’t with Scarlet. He found the place calming, there weren’t a lot of people around but his favorite thing about it, was the silence. Even back home, he always tried to find the quietest of places to be, where he wouldn’t come across that many people. Emmanuel was currently searching for something new to read, distracted as he looked through the different books on the shelves that he didn’t see the person he ended up bumping into. Immediately, he felt his nerves rising and he quickly turned around towards the person, face looking down. “I’m so sorry!” He apologized quickly, his eyes never finding the other person’s afraid to see their reaction. “I was distracted, I didn’t see you … are you hurt? I’m so sorry!”

Cais was finding it hard to adjust to the castle and being so far from her family. She found it much easier to not get overwhelmed by the world around them if she simply hid away with books or better yet in the room that had become her home away from home. However she had been so use to being alone she hadn’t been paying attention to see if there was anyone near her until she felt someone bumping into her, or had she bumped into them? She couldn’t tell who was at fault for it. She quickly shook her head, “Oh no! I’m fine,” She assured him double checking herself even if she knew that she was fine, “Are you okay though? I’m sure this is my fault.”
