He had no doubt that they would be. Of course, there was always the chance that Tia wouldn’t be down for this partnership. But she was a business woman and the amount of money they could make... didn’t make sense to turn that opportunity down.

To say that Frankie loathed the ordinary would be a gross understatement. Being a longtime resident of Chicago, and a loyal (but well buried) member of the Faust family, she knew exactly which places should have been off limits. But the thrill came from the possibility of being caught. Of slipping in and out of places that she might be killed for spending time in. But Frankie just liked to have a good time. Usually, she wasn’t looking for trouble. Not on American soil, anyway. Skyfall Bar was her favorite place to not belong. The view from the top of the city was nothing less than she deserved for a life well lived. In the evenings when the lights were dim, and the music was bland as could be, Frankie could strike up a conversation with any old bastard who decided to shoot his shot by offering her free booze. A little Clogau and she’s cozied up to some portly accountant, who’d somehow managed to grow accustomed to the smell of antacid on his own foul breath.   “See, the secret is, you’ve got to…” Frankie quickly kicked back what little scotch was left in her glass, before she smashed it’s bottom against the table, like she was squashing a giant bug. “Hit ‘em hard enough that the brain slaps right up against the inside of their skull.” Coarse as her words were, she spoke sweetly. Smooth, like milk and honey.

“Are we talking about a person or a vermon?” Davut said coming up behind her. It was a slowly evening that night, and there was much work he needed to do as a bouncer on a slow night. That was until someone started complaining about the person at the bar being  more then a little graphic for an easy Thursday night. He had one more hour, could he not get through a shift without some sort of issue. Looking over them and their company, Davut didn’t see the problem. But the Karen had insisted on him talking to her. So here he was talking, “ As much as  I’d beg to differ with your approach. I’ve got less than an hour oh my shift and Ms Karen over there.” he said pointing towards the woman glaring in their direction.

“-wants a subject change so... maybe keep your voice down so i can get out on time and home to my kid.”

“now i’m suddenly feeling lucky that i don’t have a date tonight.” the last thing she needed was anyone scaring off her date. or sitting them down for a talk.  "two minutes is still a good amount of time on stage.“ she pointed out. anyone would be happy to have even just that amount of time in a musical. "she’s not the only one you should worry about. i plan on taking pics of you while you’re on stage. and maybe posting them on instagram.”

“Yes you are very lucky,” he chuckled flicking the cigarette into the street. The most Lucian was likely to do was mess with who ever ended up falling for hana, Know her though , he would be the last to know and he couldn’t blame her. Rolling his yes, he glared at here. “ Between you and Blair i don’t know who is worst. You or your demon sister Blair.” huffing her slung an arm over her shoulder. “Should I buy you a drink to bribe into being nice and not taking pictures of me?”

He’s still in the possession of a greasy bag of someone’s food. Zane isn’t sure who he was supposed to be delivering to. After he checked in with Diamond he left the bag of food in a random visible spot, and hoped the correct person would find the placement. A large grin offered to his niece as he neared her, “Actually I came to see you before everything started. Anything I need to be warned about? Please tell me Mrs. Love-it doesn’t die.” Zane knew nothing about this musical, because if his nieces weren’t in it - it probably wouldn’t have interested him any either. “ Wait, where is the view better?”

Chuckling, Sloan gives Zane a small pat on the back, "You may want to dip out after the Judge..." taking an index finger and running it over her throat. There were quite a few people that would meet their end. She didn't know why the musical was popular, but why wouldn't it be. Much like life, it was hard, unjust, and bittersweet. But at least the bad guy got their due.

The same couldn't be said all the time of the world beyond the stage.

"Well, tradition dictates for me that it's the left-wing here, but..." dropping the ball, she held. Sloan goes up behind her uncle, pushing him towards the center of the stage. Before releasing him and pointing out towards the mostly empty theater. "From here is the best view, hands down."

Her sisters being in the performance was the only reason Zoe had agreed to brave the crowds for this sort of thing. Support her family through whatever she could, even if she had made jokes about Sloan being in it good for publicity. That’s all they had been, jokes. Seeing her sister off to the side she’d quickly excused herself only to slide up next to the other woman, a small smile on her face. “Weirdly I’m not here for the view.”

Sloan knew that her family would show up tonight. And they hadn’t disappointing. For Sloan, she was thrilled more so for Diamond than herself. Most of them have seen her perform, whether it was a school production of Hair. Or when she was in Paris dancing as Princess Aurora for Swan Lake. Her nerves were delicate, even more so as she stepped into the Mayor role. So many parts to play. Grinning, she turned to find Zoe waving her closer, “Oh, are you here to make fun of my hair and make up. I already know it looks like I just rolled out of bed.”

“Then it is good thing you are making your return to the stage as Mrs. Lovett, yes?” Lav proposed. “You will be absolutely lovely.” He mimicked a British accent, one he had learned not to completely butcher with the time he spent with Nadia. It wasn’t good, but it wasn’t entirely horrendous either. However, there was a reason Lav wasn’t part of the ensemble— among other things. 

“Why has it been so long for you to come back to it? Aside from responsibilities, you know. You are very good from what I have seen.”

“ Well aren' you 'he swee'es'.” she retorted in her best Cockney accent. The one she was sure to have driving her siblings and family crazy with as she practiced her lines over a few weeks. “I honestly wouldn’t have audition if it wasn’t for my sister. But it’s nice to be on stage, even if only for the night.” For a while, Sloan thought she missed the stage, and a part of her had. Dance had been such an entourage part of her life. Now, being mayor had taken over Doing right for her mother had taken over. She would always love the stage, dance, theater. It just wasn’t the end all be all it had been a few years ago. She could feel her cheeks warm. “ You are really too nice. I feel like I’m just par in comparison to others. Ballet was my profession since I was 18 in Paris, lived all of my twenties out there dancing, every night...” her voice trailed off thinking of her mother. “But I moved back for my family. So that plus my mayor obligations doesn’t leave me much time to dance or perform.”

“I’m learning.” If this is his great rebellion, then God help them all. How many times has he been called a square? Too many to count. One hand keeping the bouquet safe, his other encloses Sloan in a careful hug. “Never.” A promise, and one he can stand strong with. It’s when he senses her gearing up to step back that he gives her one quick squeeze before releasing her.

Grateful as ever, he’s holding out those flowers for the taking. “So long as it doesn’t mess with superstition. That’s a thing, right?” He eyes the ball in her possession, inquisitive as ever with a raised brow. “What’s that for?”

It was all she could do to stop laughing as infuriating as he could be about always doing the right thing. Sloan honestly couldn’t picture him being anything but on the right side of things- ever. Even his rebellion now was hardly that. Just as well, if Abel started to change then, they were screwed. It’s just lovely that they weren’t fighting. She always felt safe when able was close by

When they did finally let go, Sloan took the flowers. Breathing in the scent of them as humming in delight. “ Their beautiful Abel, thank you.” “So long as we walk off the way we came, it’ll be fine.” She’s quick to take his hand, leading him out to the center stage. Now empty of the cast. Getting ready in the back. She placed the flowers on a nearby table as she lept up to do a Chassé into an attitude “ When I was in the corps de bal·let, one of our Principal dancers taught me that. I had weak ankles, and holding the ball between them would help improve them and my balance, and it did.

Dylan smiled as she hugged Asli. She always loved hugs from the taller woman because she felt incredibly encapsulated in her long arms and it felt comforting. It was the same when hugging or cuddling with Abraham. She was a fan of tall people no matter who they were.

“It honestly kind of helps my nerves knowing you’re all here. I heard there was an after party following the show but what if we all just hit up a bar or a diner after? I got a cute girl a ticket and she was gonna be my date anyway. Her name’s Cassandra? I don’t know. We met outside Unbound and she’s pretty cute. Apparently she’s bringing me flowers which is fucking dope.”

“God, you’re so fucking tall… or I’m just short. But every time I hug you, I got pillows to rest on.” She hugged Asli tighter.

“Cassandra pretty; Wait, is this the same girl that you needed to borrow my pants for?” It was rather adorable that how much she wanted to impress this person then and now. “ Okay, clearly, we are gonna have to bring Cass with us when we have our group outing.”

It was nice to see, it was nice to see all of her friends so happy in general. Shit always got dark way too quick in this city, and it was nice to just enjoy.

“Listen, don’t come for me, okay? Davut is just as tall as I am.” laughing Asli puffed up her chest a little more as Dylan hugged her tighter. “ Tiny pillow, but feel free to enjoy them.”

Five minutes, he’d begged. Two sisters preparing to take the stage, and Abel is nothing if not prepared. He knows, understands, tradition dictates flowers after the show — but who really has the patience to wait so long? So he slips backstage with a little help from a friend, quiet and mindful as he is guided to one of his sisters. “Hey.” He knows he shouldn’t be back here. It shows in his smile. “No, I came to see you. I wanted to say break a leg and,” he gestures to the flowers in his left hand with his right, “may be doing things a little backwards.”

Things had been rocky for a little while. Maybe they would always be. No sibling ever agreed. And arguments were bound to happen disagreements too. But Abel asked her to trust him. The truth was, she had always trusted Abel, so it wasn’t such a far fetched request. Seeing him backstage brought a smile to her face, a part of her wishing Cricket was nearby. Though she was sure, he would find their youngest sister soon enough.

“Is that my ever lawful older brother breaking the rules and theater traditions?” She balked. Leaning down quickly, taking the ball she held between her ankles, before stepping forward, throwing her arms around his shoulders in a hug.

“Please tell me you aren’t here to embarrass me.” she teased, holding him for a moment longer before releasing him. Reaching towards the flowers. “I think we can do things out of order this once. I promise not to tell the rest of the family what a rule breaker you’ve become.”

The glass windows act like a TV screen, Rahi watching closely. Even inside, he keeps his footsteps light, and more careful still as he steps out. 

Rahi’s the eldest, but Lucian’s the tallest, strongest — his broad shoulders the perfect landing ground for a surprise attack. Dumb teenage play, repeated two decades in post. Behind him, Rahi’s readying a jump, when—

“Oh, fuck you man.” Lucian’s got another pair of those beautiful eyes on the back of his head too, he swears. Next time. “It’s screw-my-piggy-back o’clock.” Rahi steps closer, checking his watch. “And a quarter.” 

It’s frigid, so back into his pockets his hands go. A casual glance at his company, though, and a teasing smile impossible to fight back. “Nice pants.” 

“ If you weren’t heavy footed when you walked, I wouldn’t hear you.” he countered with a smirk. Rahi hadn’t been though, it was purely by chance that Lucian caught him when he did. Not that he was going to tell him that. Both of them knowing there was no way Lucian acted like anyone could take him by surprise.

Just old friends, still running around acting like children. Even if both were much too old to do so. It’s hard to break old and familiar habits. Ones steeped in tradition, “ Don’t be bitter; it prompts wrinkles. Can’t have that.”

It is a welcome change and a welcome exchange. That is until he mentions the pants. If it was anyone else, but it’s Rahi. So like the rest of his family, they get 3 passes.

“ Yeah, yeah, chuckles. Did you come out here just to bust my balls or to show support?”

maisie  wasn’t  ever  much  into  the  arts,  it  was  never  her  strong  suit,  and  frankly,  she’d  much  rather  be  at  home  with  wine  and  pizza  then.  .  .  at  the  theatre.  but  lucian’s  few  minutes  on  stage  urged  her  presence.  if  for  no  other  reason  then  to  be  his  excuse  to  escape  as  soon  as  it  all  was  over.  she  knew  that  was  what  he  really  wanted.

“  the  time?  ’  she  asked,  lips  cocking  into  a  smile.  “  i’d  say  it’s  time  for  us  to  grab  a  drink,  wouldn’t  you?  ’

Grinning, he reached for Maisie. Pulling her away from the lights of the marquee. Closer to the dark edges of the building that he found solace in. After the news got out that he was going to be in the damn show. Lucian had wanted to back out of it. Instead, he spent most of his free time at Maisie’s apartment when he wasn’t working or needed for the family business. It was a much-needed escape. Considering none of his family knew where she lived, hiding was easy. Significantly, when he had his ringer off.

Humming, he nuzzled into her neck. Placing soft open mouth kisses there. “Or we could sneak off and head home. Plenty to drink there and no sister to videotape it.”

late. of course she was running late. she had her reasons though why. one was the fact that she spent forever picking her out an outfit. one she knew her brothers wouldn’t like. but she was an adult. she could wear whatever she wanted. that was what she loved. despite that though, most of the time, she wore comfy clothes. tonight though, she wanted to stand out. noticing her brother outside, she raised an eyebrow as she walked outside. “if i had a date tonight, i probably wouldn’t have any time to spare.” she joked. “nervous about tonight? or are you excited?”

“Oh yeah?” raising brow about date part. Of course, a part of him was well aware that there was no way he could tell his sister how she could or couldn’t date. And taking in the outfit that she was wearing he couldn’t tell her what she could and couldn’t wear. She was a Faust after all, if anyone knew how to take care of themselves and had been trained to do so it was his sister. Still, that didn’t mean he liked it. “ I guess it’s a good thing you don’t have  date, outer wise he and I would have to have a talk. Make sure they are suitable and all that.” he grinned flicking the butt of his cigarette out into the street. “Nervous for what? My whole two minutes on stage.” he shook his head . “ I’m more concerned about that sister of ours filming it then me actually getting up there. I’ll take this lose like a champ.”

Lav fiddled with the overpriced array of concessions in his hands, picking at the candied fruit with some disgust. He expected better from his family even if it was all temporary. His place among the crowd had started to become quite boring as old flames seemed to run through the lobby but remained cold embers in his interest— for now. His focus was still on his task and the only thing that could take it was knowing it was complete. He would keep an eye on the rafters until they were done. Dressed in black like the theatre’s crew, he moved throughout the venue freely.

“What is wrong with left?” Lav asked, peering over the woman’s shoulder. “I have been on the left side three times, is that bad luck for me or just all of actors?”

Sloan shook her head, lifting to the balls of her feet. Her body was remembering these movements with ease. Traditions, the theater was steeped in them. Some more familiar than others, but there were still there. Rooting the actors, dancers, any performer really... to the stage.

“ Nothing is wrong with it, perse.” she chuckles. Peering over at him. “Traditions says that the side of the stage you enter on your first performance should be the side you exit on your last.” Sloan’s eyes turn back towards  the cast once more. “My last performance was seven years ago. It’s just a happy and silly coincidence that I go out on the left this time around. A good omen.”

Dylan smiled up at the taller woman and blushed a little. “You’re a sweetheart. And I guess we could do karaoke but we all have to out as a shop. All of Unbound!” She giggled. When she mentioned if Antonia would get the girl, she rolled her eyes. “I don’t know! You’ll just have to watch! No spoilers, sweetie.” She stuck her tongue out and then took a sip of her drink. “I am glad you’re enjoying it. I’m also so happy to see everyone came. It feels nice that you’re all out here supporting me, you know?” she bit her lip. It really touched her that her friends were so cool. But really cool. Not just fake shit.

Asli pressed her lips together, “ I’m pretty sure the only person that might put up a fight is Taron but... we can figure that shit out easy.” she grinned. A work outing as a group... if there was enough alcohol involved she was sure that they could get the lot of them to show up. “ No way come on! Not even like a little small hint. Don’t be so mean woman.” laughing at the face Dylan made. Honestly, she was a little more invested in the two youthful young lovers but only just a little bit more then the darker themes of play. Wondering if Fletcher had bothered to show up this was right up his alley.

“ Bitch of course we would,” taking  Dylan in her arms offering a hug. It was the best part about working at Unbound, working with all of them. They might give each other a hard time every now and again but they all genuinely cared for each other. “I mean Rosie and I are probably gonna be nice and tipsy near the end but support you is what we’ve come to do, always.”
