Do you use the NRaas mods? Has the information on the NRaas website and forum ever been useful to you? If so, a moment of your time please!
Iâd like to share the current situation with Simblr â which you can also read about directly from the site owner here:
https://www.nraas.net/community/topic15428
While it seemed like we were entering an era of old-internet revival and indie websites in the fight against the dead-internet, a significant road block has emerged. Prices have inflated drastically for server parts, memory, storage, and server-hosting itself. This puts all non-profit online communities in peril.
As a result, the site owner has opened a Patreon so that the community can help cover the costs of keeping us online.
Important clarification:
The NRaas mods are NEVER going to be paywalled.
The project will remain open-source and free for everyone. Donations are optional.
These mods are still in active development!
The site and mods have been maintained by Chain_Reaction since Twallan's retirement, providing countless updates and support. Lots of cool stuff over there if you haven't updated in a hot minute.
There is no pressure to donate if your situation does not allow for it. Thank you for the consideration!
Long post ahead with information on the situation and some incentives for reaching membership goals.
If you've had some trouble accessing the site over the past week or so:
The situation is directly caused by the greed and encroachment of something weâre all uncomfortably familiar with: AI companies and the companies investing in them (of simmer relevance, that includes EA and Krafton (InZoi)).
NRaas is not the first nor will it be the last to be affected. Website servers already suffer from bots trawling and scraping their content â including your content that you write and share just about anywhere. Now theyâre being bought off entirely.
Archives and file-hosting are at high risk. Myrient is a recent example of an archive that went offline for this very reason.
It can feel a bit grim, but I want to assure you that the burden isn't yours to bear as an individual. As a community, it's actually quite easy to become hostile - and more important, unprofitable - to these invasive species as it were.
The past 26 years of modding and storytelling was OVERWHELMINGLY built upon free software, non-profit websites, and shared resources. A few unscrupulous paywallers and corporate greed isn't going to rewrite that history. Greed is the minority - but it does try to eat everything in its path.
That's all I ask - if you enjoy the fruits of The Sims community or enjoy being a part of it, make it just a little more inconvenient to swallow us.
Do not tolerate GenAI in our community spaces.
Do not support EA or Krafton. Let obscurity and irrelevancy devour them.
Do participate in the community wherever you think you'd find a little piece of purpose - make a blog for your stories, come chat with us in the Chatterbox forum at NRaas, make your first mod.
Lastly:
In a separate post, I'll be posting some CC incentives that will be released as milestones are reached. This content will not be paywalled - it will be posted for free as thanks to the community.
This is being offered on my own accord and is not the official reward for any particular tier. None of the proceeds are going to me!
Please look out for that over the weekend, I still need to take all of the preview screenshots which is perhaps the least exciting part of making CC.
And thank you, on behalf of the volunteers at NRaas.
This piece will be displayed at Boji Gallery in Shibuya, Japan starting July 18 in their summer themed exhibition! Iâm so excited to have my work displayed in an area that shaped the fashion that inspires so much of my art!
This watercolor piece was inspired by my childhood summer vacations and the colorful souvenirs I would collect! đ đЎ

I was gifted Paralives by a kind friend and decided to brute force a laptop below the requirements to run it. It's been 168 hours since I got the game (exactly one week), and i have banked 50 hours.
Around 11pm Sunday night, I spent my first two or three hours making my paraself and living life in a premade home. I was scared to venture far in case my laptop couldn't handle it, so I mostly painted and flirted with Tara Jade and Solene (I don't care that she's not single).
Then the real work began. How historical can I make Paralives look without mods?
The Families
I started by making two families and one of their houses, as well as a new Paramaker room, which can be seen in the background of my screenshots.
The paras shown are OCs from a wlw Victorian story I'm writing, the Brooks family and the Hawthorne family. More below the keep reading thingy!
The Brooks Family
Solomon and Rowan Brooks own a modest cottage deep in a rural village. They have a few animals, including chickens, a cow and a donkey, and a couple of pigs, as well as some large wheat fields that Solomon works with his eldest son, Cassian.
At home, all the children help out; Tobias helps little Clementine learn to count with every pump of their cow's udders, while Delilah watches little baby Caleb or teaches her younger siblings their letters in the dirt. She's graduated from the village school from a student to a helper, and helped raise all her siblings as well.
Their cottage is a cozy and humble two bed, with all the children sharing one room, Tobias and Cassian sharing a bed, and the parents in their own bedroom. The downstairs holds a large kitchen, fireplace area and pantry, and the room is always filled with laughter.
The Hawthorne Family
Alistair and Evelyn Hawthorne live comfortably in a middle-upper class home. Alistair often travels for work, bringing home books as a gift for his daughter Clara.
Due to her mother being a children's author, Clara got into reading very early. Nowadays, she can be seen with her nose in a book, with her cat perched on her shoulder, or otherwise rambling about felines in some way. Her older brother Julian is quite fond her but does tire of her babbling sometimes, as do her parents.
Babe-in-arms Elijah is the newest addition to the family, a colicky baby who needs a new nursemaid with an iron stomach. Too bad the last nursemaid couldn't hack it. Maybe a young village girl can fill the role?
And that's it, there are my two families!
Modding
Then, the REAL real work began- can I mod Paralives?
Turns out, I absolutely can.
Here are 3 of the kids having a nice time before It begins...
An here's baby Caleb contracting Scarlet Fever...
And here is Caleb dying instantly of Scarlet Fever.
So yeah, I added baby and child death (lol). It wasn't necessarily hard but I cannot figure out for the life of me how to make that Scarlet Fever need rise slowly and only kill when it's full. That last image was from when I set it to "NeedAtFatalStep" but it just killed him the second he even got the bar. So clearly, empty=fatal step. So I tried doing it when "NeedIsFull" but it never gets full. I'll have to tinker around a lot more but at the very least, it's in the game, it's catchable at school or daycare, and it's extremely contagious. If anyone can help me with it, lmk!
I also made some more minor mods for myself, such as turning of character spawning, changing the empty terrain size and being able to zoom out more, and showing debug objects. I have a guide I'm writing for all of those, as well as for modding death and illnesses.
Custom World
I don't know how many more images I can add, but here's a preview of my custom world I'm making for these families! The bottom is a small town and market square, while the top is the rural village. The Brooks live in the biggest lot at the very back. In between, branching off a long winding country road, are 3 lots for large villlas and mansions, where the Hawthornes will live.
Other than that, I built my old bungalow, made my boyfriend, made Melanie Martinez and made the Bratz from the live-action movie. Not very historical at all.
Bugs and Issues
I honestly did not have that many issues with the game itself. The main ones were rooms not becoming/staying rooms, and in one sickness test, the Hawthorne's spawned in the bunny pose and wouldn't move until I made them move as a group. Another was my boyfriend instantly getting 3 life stage upgrades when I entered a new game.
The files and modding, however, is a totally different story. It's very unforgiving in some ways. For example, I spent hours on Thursday making my Scarlet Fever mod but in the evening, despite the changes showing in the text files, they would not appear in the Control Panel. I ended up completely uninstalling the game (about 5 times) and deleting most of my (backed up) files (because the first 4 times didn't delete my saves and such).
With a fresh install, I moved my mod back over and it was working again. But when I woke up the next day, the same happened. Rather than tearing my hair out, I went to work on the custom world for a bit, and when I next exited to the menu, suddenly everything was back in the Control Panel. Weird and annoying, but it came back so I can't be too mad I suppose. But I spent most of my hours in the game from Thursday-Saturday morning just trying to fix this.
And that's it! I'm planning to spend the next week making backdrops to take posed photos in front of, so I can use CC versions of these characters as models for my historical mod list. Those lists would benefit from some in-game pictures, and since I actually have the game, I might actually be able to do that now.
My first Curly / Locks / Wavy / Braids Collection for Paralives is finally here!

This collection focuses on bringing more diversity to hairstyles by featuring a variety of curls, waves, braids, and locks.
One of my goals while creating this set was to offer more inclusive options for Paras, with hairstyles suited to different hair textures, lengths, and personalities. Whether you're looking for loose waves, defined curls, protective styles, or long locks, I hope this collection gives you more possibilities to tell your Paras' stories.

⢠10 new hairstyles
⢠4 texture variations for every hairstyle
⢠A mix of Curly, Wavy, Braided and Locked hairstyles
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
This is the first collection in this series, and I already have plenty of ideas for future hairstyles. If there are specific styles, textures, or haircuts you'd like to see next, feel free to send me your suggestions!

Don't hesitate to share your feedback or screenshotsâI always love seeing your Paras wearing my creations!
No pressure to sign up, all categories and posts should be visible without an account, have a browse :>
Otherwise read on for a quick description :)
While Discord is good for chatting and sharing lots of pictures, it can be difficult to share content from it and the chat can move very fast. And while Reddit is good for text posts, it can be toxic at times, it can also move fast and is also a much broader social media.
So I decided to try to make a more focused fan forum that can hold screenshots, playthrough stories, mod showcases, challenges and more.
Iâm very much new to building and managing a forum like this so Iâm very open to suggestions in general, as well as for new categories and tags. I've already posted my Single Parent challenge over there and another user has made a list of mod reccomendations; so it's not totally empty but there's only 3 members including myself, so it's not exactly popping.
But if youâd like to come take a look, the link is here: Paralives Fan Forum
(If you would like to join, and also like to mod in Paralives, try to join with the invite code "MODDER" and you should be given the modder role. If you forget/can't, just DM me over there)
so, as we know there is no "foundation" tool in paralives. but, that doesn't mean you can't build them anyways with their almost limitless build mode!
there are 2 popular ways of making foundation as of now, one is with an entire wall height, & the other is using the platforming tool.
full wall foundations are what they sound like, a full wall underneath your house.
pros: easy, fast, doesn't glitch out that much.
cons: the bottom floor of your house is completely empty, much like sims 2. paralives often defaults to loading your house on the bottom floor, which will greet you with an empty box.
---
in my opinion, platform foundations are much easier to build, cost efficient, & look better in live mode.
pros: now you can have your house viewed at the bottom floor without having to look at an empty area.
cons: platforms seem a little glitchy right now, if you "undo" or go down a level, it may glitch the floor out completely.
---
how you decide to build foundations is completely up to you! but, if you're going for a "split level" or multiple different heights build, i recommend platforms!
i got tired of looking at half of my house when the floors were down, so i rebuilt it using platforms!
now, i can see my entire house on the bottom floor without having to flip through different floor levels!
First time opening Commissions for this type of thing!
This is just an option for those who don't know how to model hair, have a very specific idea in mind or just don't want to wait until someone feel like making the one you want.
I make the hair and they will be available for download for free on my steam workshop so everyone can enjoy it!
I have 10 slots available for now. Just to see how it goes and not overwork myself.
Depending on the complexity it will take 4 to 5 days to be made.
I will accept one hairstyle for person. If more than one person end up asking for the same one, you have the option to be refunded or change to another hair you would like.
Commissions Open! Click to see Alliemonade's commission menu.
It's time! Welcome to my Museum Legacy Challenge, where you will complete the museum in Melino over 5 generations!
If you are interested in playtesting this challenge, please check this spreadsheet! I'm also very open to feedback for improving the challenge! This is technically somewhat of a beta for now to see if this can even work.

Overview
Your goal for each generation is to complete your Primary Task for the Museum, and bring in the next generation. These are the main requirements to consider a generation âsuccessfulâ.
You may follow the rest of the rules as closely or loosely as you wish (obviously) but I have tried to structure some sort of story and resulting aesthetic with them, for guidance purposes or if youâre struggling to tell a story. Divert from it where itâs the most fun.
Traits are provided to try and encourage each Heir to act accordingly to their generation and what I think they may need, but can be reversed for a challenge or ignored for total freedom.
Keep reading for the full rules!
Set Up:
Start on any empty lot of your choosing.
Start with one young adult or teenager.
Overall Goal: Restore the museum throughout the generations.
Upon completion of each museum wing/section feel free to either:
Add a portrait of that genâs Heir in their dedicated section
Map that genâs family tree in their dedicated section
Or hold all of that until Gen 5, and create a whole wing dedicated to memorialising the museumâs biggest - and only - contributors: your family.Â

đ GEN ONE - Historian Romance đď¸
- Humble, scholarly, nostalgic -
You just moved to a new town, ready to explore and rich in history- something of particular interest to you. Youâd like to set down roots here and learn about how this charming town came to be, maybe even work in the oldest building in town. But first, you must start at the bottom: minimum wage and low-quality accommodation.
Books line every wall in this home; luxuries and comfort come second to knowledge and learning.
Gen Rules
Vibe: Serious
Social Perk: Good with Family
Home: Academic, make-shift/mis-matched, low-quality
Museum Goal:
Primary Task: Fill the History section of the museumâs collectibles (Artefacts, not including paintings).
Do not sell any History items you havenât already donated to the museum, even if it means being unable to pay your bills or buy nicer furniture.
Keep at least 3 duplicate items as potential heirlooms. You may sell any others.
Try to avoid collecting art, mushrooms etc.; sell any that you happen to collect, without donating them, if possible. Otherwise, delete or store them (in the case of items that cannot be found twice).
Have a good relationship with the museum Curator (Rahul Patel)
Career
Work a minimum-wage job for all of your young adulthood (and teenage years, if applicable).
Work in the museum by the time you are a senior (and find love there if you wish!)
Family/Love & Legacy
Have at least one child by/in adulthood.
Once theyâre born, take your grandchild(ren) (Gen 3) to the museum with you regularly, and form a bond with your chosen Gen 3 heir.
Free plants and thrown out furniture are going to be your main source of furniture for a while.
---
đ GEN TWO - Parties Galore đď¸
- Chaotic, impulsive, fun -
As a kid, you were always dragged to the museum, and it seems your parent has decided to do the same to your own kids. Furthermore, you had few luxuries as a kid. Well, looks like this is your chance! Youâre ready to party and have fun- and do it in a nice house! A revolving door of partners awaits you, alongside a pool of drinks and hangovers for the ages!
Design and comfort reign over all; beautiful bed sheets and luxury rugs are staples in this home. Not a crate coffee table to be seen.
Gen Rules
Vibe: Energetic
Social Perk: Good at Making Friends
Home: Luxurious, designer, a little tacky
Museum Goal:
Primary Task: Avoid the Museum at all costs!
Career
Work part-time in any job of your choice.
Family/Love & Legacy
Have multiple flings from teen to adult, resulting in at least two âaccidentalâ pregnancies.
Move multiple partners in and out in quick succession. (None should stay permanently.)
Let your parent care for your kids on multiple occasions. Have a stronger relationship with your other child(ren) than your Gen 3 heir.
Sell up to 3 of your parentâs historical artifacts to fund your lifestyle and home.
Buy all your furnishings straight from the build/buy menu.
---
đ GEN THREE - Geological Hobbyist đ
- Earthy, open, peaceful -
One of your grandparents loved the museum and so do you - just not for the exact same reasons. Since you were a child, you found yourself particularly obsessed with Hector, Amber and August, the museumâs mascots. They inspired a love of foraging, digging and searching for mushrooms and precious stones, as well as natural living. You wish to be nothing like your parent.
Hand-picked thrifted gems are at the core of this home; rich jewel-toned throws and rugs decorate every room, crystals paint the sunlight, and plants crawl across every surface.
Gen Rules
Vibe: Overjoyed
Social Perk: Good at Taking Care of Others
Home: Bohemian, plants, thrifted gems.
Museum Goal:
Primary Task: Fill the Mushroom and Ore sections of the museumâs collectibles.
Keep some mushrooms to grow on your lot in a mushroom greenhouse.
Career
Maintain a steady, full-time job in science.
Family/Love & Legacy
As a child, collect merchandise from the museum.
Maintain good grades.
Have a serious relationship in each life stage from teen to adult, but no flings. The relationships may be with the same or different people.
Adopt at least two children of different ages, and have a good relationship with both.
Replace what your parents stole from your grandparents.
Get most of your furnishings second-hand, fill your home with plants and eccentric decor.
---
đ¨GEN FOUR - Digital Connoisseur đŽ
- Tech-savvy, creative, natural -
Your parent was pretty much a hippie and you are very much okay with that. They filled your household with love and care, and gave you an outlet for your emotions: art. But while your great-grandparent may have wished you study âThe Greatsâ, youâre much happier doodling anime, dreaming of making art for a video game company one day.
This home is filled with dark, sleek, modern but natural wooden furniture; a mix of modern minimalism and light boho, cluttered with art and lined with neon lights.
Gen Rules
Vibe: Jester
Social Perk: Good at Cooperation
Home: Bright and fun, modern, neon-natural
Museum Goal:
Primary Task: Fill the Classic Arts section of the museumâs collectibles.
Have a good relationship with the Museum Curator
If possible, digitise (draw from reference) each piece before donation.
Career
Earn money through art from teenage years.
By Adulthood, work in an Art domain (such as at Parallel Game Dev company as a Character Designer).
Save and "put away" as much money as possible for your next Heirâs dream/goal.Â
Family/Love & Legacy
Pursue art as a child, inspired by Miki.
Master the Art skill
Go to a party dressed as Miki (you can be loyal to her designs or make your own version/outfit!)*
Take on your parentsâ hippie vibes, but clean it up into something a little more modern.
Create and store at least 10 artworks (donât sell them all!)
Find love online or in mutual art/gaming interests.
*Parties are not present at EA. Have a gathering, play some music, etc.
---
đď¸đ¨GEN FIVE - Legacy Curator đŞđ
- Ambitious, polished but comfortable -
Your parent loved the arts, and you inherited their creative spark, only for music, instead. The museum is technically full and finished but something is missing. Throughout your life, you watched your parent dedicate years to the museum, and to art, only for their own artwork to never leave a cupboard. Itâs up to you to give your parent (and family) the credit they deserve.
A sprawling estate, with space for multiple generations; luxury and personality combine with comfort, a perfect blend of all who came before.
Gen Rules
Vibe: Your choice
Social Perk: Your choice
Home:Â A luxury, legacy home, in a style of your choosing. Your ancestors rest on your property in a dedicated space.Â
Museum Goal:
Primary Task: Buy the museum (and renovate it lightly, if you wish).
Add a Legacy wing to credit your ancestors who contributed before you.
Move one signature item from each section or from your home to this wing to remember/represent each generation. (Eg. Gen 4: Your Gen 4 paraâs easel, or the painting you think was their favorite, hardest to find, etc)
Dedicate a new wing to modern-day art, and display all the artwork created and stored by your Gen 4 parent.Â
Fill any missing spots from previous gens!
Career
Perform at the museum weekly to help raise funds.
Reach the top of a Music career to fund your large purchase.
Family/Love & Legacy
Pursue music as a child.
Master your instrument.
Could love lie somewhere in the town, maybe at the local bar?
Note: There is more potential for more generations/museum wings, such as: farming/plants, fish, insects, fossils and seashells. (If added officially or via mods).
Helpful Resources:
On the Steam Workshop, subscribe to the mod by âIrn Cgullâ which allows you to modify public lots.
Alternatively, you can use a cheat to buy and edit any lot in the game: TOGGLEEDITTOWN
Keep in mind, these cheats, as well as the mod, may cause issues in your game or save file, and we donât know what happens to community lots once edited with this method.
It may be safer to renovate the museum in a duplicated save file to check for any repercussions, and maybe even upload it to the steam workshop to load into another duplicated file to check for any repercussions there. Please let me know of the outcome so I can update this!
someone: sims 2 community is highkey racist at times and this is reflected in the custom content creation space
horde of white simmers: oh my goddd you literally have so much to choose from though! this space is the most diverse ever. what do you mean poc options feel limited compared to options for non-poc. why don't you just make the cc yourself. bet you never thought of that. and btw it's completely normal for marginalized groups and people wanting gameplay that isn't white centric to have to search harder to curate a downloads folder for themselves. be grateful you have anything at all. here let me make it easier for you here's 10 measly links now stop suggesting deeper analysis of fandom trends and let me play my game IN PEACE!!!
For context: this came out in 2011 in Australia. Same-sex marriage would not be legalized until December 2017.
It was only legalized in 8 US states (the 8th only a few months before), and wouldnât be legalized nation-wide until 2015.
It was only legal in TEN COUNTRIES in 2011. We wouldnât hit 20 countries until 2017. (Australia was 23rd)
As of today (April 14, 2026), I believe only 38 countries have fully legalized same-sex marriage. Out of somewhere around 200 countries in the world. Thatâs only ~19% of countries.
