Ugly people! Do you get annoyed when people react to statements* about/involving being ugly** with phrases like "nobody is ugly" or "beauty is subjective"?
Not Ugly (fitting your societies' beauty standard) / Not Ugly (perceived as Not Ugly socially regardless of societies' standard) / Not Ugly (not perceived as Not Ugly but don't care what others think) / no, I agree or find it pertinent / no, I disagree or don't find it pertinent but their good intention weights more / no, I don't agree nor find it pertinent but it makes me feel better / No, I don't fit the above answers but don't care enough to be annoyed / yes, I feel my struggles are being ignored and the subject derailed / Yes, I feel I'm being lied to / Yes, for multiple reasons that include those above / Yes, for reasons that don't include the above / nuance (ugly only)

one of my favorite types of content is people who analyse low brow media with the same seriousness with which one generally uses to analyse artsy/prestige media. not cynicism, no mockery, no acting like they're above it, even if they think its bad. everything has themes even when not intended to be there, everything says something about the context in which it was made even if its not trying to, and sometimes the lack of depth betrays a different type of depth in what the media does not realize that its saying much more than the little that its saying on purpose. even if the craft is bad.

This would have had me crucified on tumblr 10 years ago but maybe we are ready for this conversation now:
If you are a socially anxious person, you have to socialize. Your panic/anxiety attacks will only get worse and trigger more frequently if you constantly avoid contact with The Public. Not saying that you need to be a social butterfly- but there is a genuine problem with not being able to order your own meal at a restaurant. And it cannot be solved by always having someone else do it for you.
