Okay SO

Lila’s plan is still in motion. She knows how smart and paranoid maribug is and used that to her advantage.

She chose to be suspicious on purpose to get Marinette into defence mode to test her defences.

Marinette has plenty of protocols in place in case something were to happen, but you don’t catch someone when their guard is up. You catch them when it’s down.

This is a rash decision on Marinette’s part. I love that the girl is gonna get some proper care from adults who care about her BUT she was so quick to reveal herself.

I am not convinced that room isn’t bugged or one of the parents aren’t actually the parents or something else. Earlier defensive Marinette would have thought about all those things but panicked and confused Marinette didn’t.

Aaaaannnnd Tikki was about to say she forgot something, did she forget a step in her plan in her paranoia? Did she reveal her cards without even realising it?

One thing that stuck out to me was that Marinette and Adrien's conversation at the beginning of the episode was roughhh. I don't think we've ever seen them "argue" like that when they're not LB and CN (well, excluding Heartfixer). It kinda hurts to watch.

Adrien is definitely trying to force himself to commit to believing Gabriel was a hero, even if he's unwilling to admit it. He said something along the lines of "You told me I should make my own decisions but now that I have you don't like it." but to me it screamed "I'm finally believing my father is a hero like you guys told me to, but now you're unhappy about it. What do you want from me?"

But of course he couldn't say that because. Well. It's bloody depressing. Adrien is still struggling to make his own decisions, even if he doesn't realise it.

Imagine struggling to accept your abusive parent was a good person because of a lifetime of empirical evidence

Then because your girlfriend kept pushing this idea in your head for months you finally admit maybe you were wrong and the abuser as actually a good guy all along

And then right after that your girlfriend goes "hum akshually your dad was a piece of shit after all, dont ask me why. We're done btw."

And then you find out everyone around you is lying. The abuser was indeed an absolute piece of shit of a degree you havent even imagined, and people still decided to lie to your face. Your friends, your guardian, your family all knew and just kept going along in this gaslighting feast because they though you were too weak to handle something you had already accepted. And that your now ex is the one that orchestrated it all.

I haven't seen anyone point this out yet, so I will. Adrien's desire to turn his house into a museum ties perfectly into his arc all season. He starts the season out not wanting to go home. Not wanting to go home so badly that he turns around and starts running away.

And all season we see him unable to get comfortable in that house. His stuff is in boxes. He can't figure out how to paint his walls. He doesn't feel at home there. The whole place already feels like a museum or mausoleum to his father's life. And suddenly he gets an idea. "What if it really WAS a museum?"

What if instead of having to live in the shadow of his father, he could make the house into what it already is. A monument to a man he never knew and never understood. An archive of the past. Something OTHER than a home. Because it doesn't feel like a home to him, it hasn't in a long long time. Yes Marinette contributed to his idea of "making people see the great man Gabriel was." But it's really not about that, it's about making the house make sense to him, and having an excuse to get out. Because you can't LIVE in a museum. Can you. The museum idea is Adrien finding a way to get out from under the house....the only way he has found that feels socially acceptable.

Chat Noir responded like that to Ladybug’s offer for him to find a stand-in because he doesn’t WANT to reveal his identity.

when has he ever said he wants to reveal to anyone besides Ladybug? he actually seems like he enjoys the anonymity of having no one know who he is. the only exception is Ladybug.

there are only two people he would consider revealing to—Nino and Marinette. Nino told him he found Chat Noir annoying, which seriously may have made Adrien not want to reveal to him. he also knows he is already Carapace. Marinette just said in a prior scene that she didn’t want to be a superhero (to get out of being Renardette) , and he also witnessed Marinette as Multimouse and “Ladybug” telling her that she couldn’t use her again because it was too risky since her identity had been revealed.

while being a superhero isn’t a burden to him—conversely it allows him a lot of freedom—he thinks it would be to Nino or Marinette because of these reasons.

Redesigning the main 2!

(totally not still stalling, heh...)

Going forward i'm just going to focus on Marinette and Adrien. Alya, Nino, and Chloe will still make appearances but they won't be main characters. Still unsure if I should keep the miricale box idea. If so I'd like to do something unique with them since there won't be a group of hero's in my AU- only Lady Beetle and Chat Cimmerien.
