I'm so late for this I'm sorry
I did talk about it briefly but here's the whole story:
Basically when I met him I shook his hand and asked if I could hug him (because his manager told us to ask first) and he went "uuh sure I guess.." in the SASSIEST Dave tone. I assume he was just tired from the show? Anyway, I hugged him, thought it was supper funny and wanted to tease him for it so I went "that's kinda rude, you didn't wanna hug me" and he goes "how's that rude, you asked if you could and I said sure I guess?" and uhh I may have went too far because I said I 'didn't feel appreciated' BUT KEEP IN MIND I was super nervous and laughing the whole time, so I thought it'd be obvious I was joking!!!!
He stares at me after this, like, GLARES AT ME snd goes "YOU don't feel appreciated by ME?" (he even pointed at me while saying YOU😭)
At that moment I realized who I was talking to and I stared PROFUSELY apologizing, saying I was just joking and I didn't actually mean it and it wasn't supposed to come across that way.
He didn't give in at first, saying things like "Oh nonono I get it you feel unappreciated and now you're gonna go and call me out online" blah blah. He signed my vinyl after saying "Uh you want me to sign u this for you? 😑" and then we had our picture taken.
Afterwards I actually started telling him positive things and how his music and his personal life story got me through so much and motivated me to stay strong during hard times and how I'm so glad he found happiness after everything he went through. He was listening and nodding and he was in a good mood again. When I was done he just asked me:
"do you feel appreciated now?"
I said I did.
He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and turned to the few other kids waiting in line after me and proclaimed
"SEE? HE FEELS APPRECIATED NOW!"
And he laughed.
I felt embarrassed so I left right after that 😭
So yeah, that's my not-so-perfect and very awkward experience meeting Dave Mustaine.
We don't talk enough about the song When. It's so good and painfully underrated. The lyrics are great and as somebody who went through hell and back a few years ago i resonate with them so hard. I wish they had more songs like these (A recipe for hate.... Warhorse comes close)

the idealogical basis for punk (anti-establishment, anti-authority, and anti-bigotry) is just as important as the music. It’s a leftist counter-culture. This is part of why I think of sysmeds as posers. They are inherently for the establishment of psych as an authority and are pro policing people’s MINDS.
I don’t give a single fuck about what you deem punk, I will be punk regardless. I believe very strongly in the foundation of the counterculture and love a good chunk of the music associated with it.
