the way tumblr talks about incest often makes me think of those like. generally correct posts saying that it's goofy to insist gothic horror shouldn't have incest in it, as incest is one of the major themes of the genre. but then there seems to be this disconnect of thinking incest is cool and #sexy when the reason incest is a major theme in gothic horror is because it's meant to be horror. as in a bad thing that's scary and traumatizing. because it's incest.
