the way the cav mindset got to gideon so fast says a lot honestly. i know its the Society and gideons probably read a billion comics where necrocavs are standard practice but theyve been there for maybe a month in canaan house, maybe 2 months at most and she went from being entirely disinterested to dedicating herself to harrow wholly. theres multiple scenes where you see her grow into lamenting being a failure of a cav and how that is actively changing her mindset, and that in itself was horrific for her because her first moment out of the ninth and shes surrounded by pairs that take each other to life and death. that shit is crazy!! in theory you could have ended it thinking all of them were freaks but personally i think modern au gideon would leave the ninth and immediately fall into another cult
