Of course it’s Bill Cipher. When is it never Bill Cipher! Gideon’s already thinking to himself, ‘why can’t I just have one damn thing to myself? One measly, positive thing!’ He can’t say it aloud, though, even if he didn’t know the blasted demon could read his mind and recite the line right back to him anyway. No, he’ll just fall back onto his ass and pathetically push himself away as the other quite literally hovers over him, piercing gaze locked right onto him.
"B-Bill!? What in the world——-" He stammers out his words without thinking, immediately losing the demanding, pushover demeanor he held just moments before. To think he could’ve ordered around some lowly reverend of his make-believe wedding and instead finding himself coming face to face with a literal nightmare from the past? There’s a lot of unfinished business that Gideon could think of right on the spot that Bill had could dig back up.
He does his best not to look too much like the frightened little 10-year-old he really is, swallowing his fear in favor of throwing Bill a confused scowl. He will absolutely not let him control him now, even if he is somehow here for whatever reason. Poor Gideon probably doesn’t even realize this is a dream.
”What’re you doin’ here, heathen! Where on earth is the reverend and m’sweet Mabel!”
Bill watches Gideon scramble backwards like a lopsided crab with no small amount of...glee. He relishes the sickly sweet dread permeating through the boy's pores like a bouquet from a fine wine. It has been far too long since Bill has been treated with the respect, awe, and fear deserved by a demon of his station. He'll be sure to milk this encounter for all its worth.
"Ohhhh Gideon. Still nutty as a fruitcake, I see. And just as appealing, too." The last few words are punctuated by a good, long pinch to Gideon's cheeks. "Your future restraining order holder is probably safe in bed, dreaming sweet dreams. As for why I'm here, well! Why wouldn't I want to reconnect with my F̲͎̅ΔͪͩV̱̩OͬR͗̊I̜ͦTE͓̔ ̜B̉ͭU͍̟͐̒SIŇ̍E͕S̮͓S͇̳ ̫̋P̊Δ͈R͌T̹̹N̎ͅE̼͓Rͪ͂?"
Truthfully, Bill couldn't care less about the deal the little monster had backed out of however long ago; there was far too much on his plate currently with the new surroundings and his lost powers. But he could sense the uneasiness that was keeping Gideon on his toes, and no good businessman willingly relinquishes the potential for leverage.
"We never did get to work out the details of that deal, Hairspray. Why don't you take a load off and the two of us can have a little discussion? Perhaps we can come to a new Δ̼Ȑ̈Ṛ̭Δ̘̽̌NG̈E̯͙M̳̪͛Ë́N͖T̹͎̽."
