I treated myself to a painting sesh tonight after a long day of non creative tasks. As I was painting these peacock prints, it occurred to me that peacocks are always portrayed in a feminine way even though the bird is a male. I get really inspired by vintage textile design and I have a tendency to collect images that inspire me and hold onto them for a while or forever. I found this image of this dress a few years ago and absolutely love the print and everything about it. I took my favorite parts and created this print in my watercolor technique. Happy day to you!

So I've been thinking about doing a flower print with classifications. I had this amazing book growing up with general classifications about nature based things like flowers, rocks, fish all sorts of stuff and the inner nerd in me loved it. Be somewhere you feel free - is based on a song. Typically when I "remember" a quote, the artist in me puts a spin on it. The actual quote is "you belong somewhere you feel free". This quote or idea resinates with me often in life when so much of what we experience does not feel free or within our control. the idea is to find something that liberates your spirit whether it's a place or activity or person.

Happy Monday!🍦 This is my 'Not so Black and White Leaves' print new in my @society6 shop and also available in my @spoonflower shop. The print is kind of inspired by the sharp textured and ribbed palms rampant throughout Southern California. It's one of those things that makes the east coast and west coast remarkably different. 🌊🌴

This is my pineapple art print. As an artist and designer, I often conceptualize an idea that evolves through a back forth dialogue with the art. This print is one of those things, because it it's not how I initially envisioned it. It started out as one thing and became something else.

Today is my moms birthday, so in celebration of that im sharing my matriarch tribal goddess art print. I like to do something to remember even if it's small. She died of cancer a few years ago. Happy birthday mom!
