Can the Turtles Eat Chocolate?
Okay, so if the turtles are turtles merged with human DNA, I just wonder:
Can they eat chocolate?
For most creatures on earth, including turtles, chocolate is a deadly cardiac toxin that (at least in dogs) causes essentially extreme versions of the negative side effects we get from drinking too much caffeine. For humans, though, chocolate is delicious and makes us happy.
We know Splinter can eat chocolate as in the first episode, Mystic Mayhem, Splinter is seen eating chocolate cake and milk.
But! Splinter was a human before he got turned into a tiny rat man. So the question is, are the turtles human enough to not be killed by chocolate?
Now, TECHNICALLY, if you calculate it all out (which I did cause I’m a nerd), they would actually have to consume a LOT of chocolate to be poisoned by the chocolate, less if it’s dark chocolate more if it’s milk.
So, according to my calculations(take these with a grain of salt, there are probably mistakes), if we assume that Mikey weighs 200lbs (90.7kg), Donnie weighs 230lbs(104.3kg), Leo ways 260lbs(117.9kg) and Raph weighs 300lbs(136kg), then using various conversions and mind twisting math, the results are:
Mikey would have to eat roughly 14 chocolate bars to have consumed a deadly quantity of theobromine from milk chocolate. Donnie would need around 17, Leo would need about 19 and Raph is some where around 22.
Though this is probably a lot more than it should be since most of their weight is their shells, so given their body types, I’d say if you took off around 80-ish pounds (36-ish kilos), it’s be more accurate.
I thought way to long about this but I think it’s an interesting question. Lol! But still. Assuming you halved all of the answers, it’s still WAY more chocolate than any sane person would eat.
well…a SANE person…
