Courtney Love stated of the original cover that she “wanted to capture the look on a woman’s face as she’s being crowned… this sort of ecstatic, blue eyeliner running, kind of ‘I am, I am—I won! I have hemorrhoid cream under my eyes and adhesive tape on my butt, and I had to scratch and claw and fuck my way up, but I won Miss Congeniality!’”

Japanese Clamshell Box with Silver Onlay and Lining

A magnificent box made from a real clamshell, with a flawless, beautifully patinated, silver onlay floriform motif to the lid. As incredible as the lid is, the real magic happens when you open it: the interior is lined with silver, yet the two halves fit together as perfectly as nature intended. An astounding piece of work by an anonymous Japanese artist. Age unknown - listed as 20th century, but possibly much older. The condition is perfect.
