Jagwar Ma seemingly came fully-formed out of nowhere last summer with the nostalgic yet-thoroughly-modern sleeper 'Come Save Me'. Off the back of community and triple j airplay, the track quickly made its way round the internet and the globe. "Come Save Me" found a release in the UK on The Blue Rider label, then some love on the airways of KCRW (Los Angles) and BBC Radio 1 (London).
They first appeared live for a couple of shows in the European summer of 2012. NME reviewed their second ever show at the Midi Festival in Hyeres, France "It was Jagwar Ma who hogged all the industry interest. Their songs are huge….everything they play morphs into electrifying variations"
Jagwar Ma then scored a berth on the influential NME poll for the worlds 20 Most Exciting New Bands of 2013,"Hailing from Australia, indie-dance's most exciting new duo took a trip to rural France to concoct their throbbing pop masterpieces".
Their psyche influenced electro beats have generated equal interest in the recording industry and the band just signed an Australian and New Zealand record deal with Future Classic (Flume, Flight Facilities, Mitzi).
In Europe Jagwar Ma have signed a record deal with Marathon Music. This brand new label is helmed by infamous frenchman Phlippe Ascoli who played a leading hand in signing or launching Daft Punk, Phoenix and Air.
Sydneysiders get the first look at the band when they do their debut show at GoodGod TONIGHT Wednesday Jan 16th . It is a warm up to their national slot on the Big Day Out this summer.
