Hello there! I'm so ashamed of myself for not being able to be part of the CSI appreciation week! But school won't let me and it makes me forever to make a presentable edit lol. Anyway, I have enjoyed all those edits that warmed my heart. Thank you so much, you had a great idea proposing this plan. Today is the day. Goodbye CSI, always in the deepest part of my soul.
hey, slothfulcat!
thank you for supporting c.s.i. appreciation week, even if you couldn’t make posts for it yourself. the energy this week has been amazing, and a big part of that of that has been people reblogging and liking the posts and following the blog. i’m glad you’ve enjoyed seeing everyone’s stuff so much. it’s been an awesome way to count down to the finale. three hours now, everyone!

I wanted to say thank you for creating the csi appreciation week! I had so much fun creating posts for it and reblogging the posts of the other. It has been a long time since I had so many CSI posts on my dash here. Thank you so much for bringing the CSI fandom together! (:
hey, indaysmonthsoryears!
posting your message so everyone can see your kind words. thank you so much for your participation and for supporting the project in general! it has been great to see so much creative activity going on in our fandom. thank you so much for being part of it.
Let me tell you a little bit about what CSI means to me, I say a little bit because I do not have the words to explain just how much this show has meant to me for the past 15 years. I was an obsessive child, and still am, CSI aired when I was three and at the time I was obsessed with ceiling fans I would spend hours on end staring at them trying to figure out how they worked. My mom started watching CSI the day it aired, she didn’t realize that I had stopped staring at the ceiling fan and started watching with her, from then on I was obsessed. Until I was about 13 the shows gory images gave me nightmares but I was too curious to stop watching until my mom made me but I would always try again the next week. I was intrigued not only by the cases but by the characters themselves, I learned a lot from each of them but I’ll try to keep my explanations short and only talk about a few.
Warrick Brown- taught me that it might be hard but you can overcome anything
Greg Sanders- this lovable goofball taught me that no matter your age you never have to grow up.
Nick Stokes- in the episode “Overload” in season 2 Nick tells Catherine about being sexually abused as a child, unfortunately this is something I can identify with even after the situation was supposedly handled it was never spoken of again, it seemed like I was supposed to just forget about it but I couldn’t. Nick taught me that you can move on without forgetting.
Sara Sidle-of all the characters Sara and Grissom are the two that mean the most to me. Sara managed to get through her horrible childhood without losing her humanity, if she did I can too. I love that her passion and determination knows no bounds and her empathy is at times overpowering but she continues to fight. She gave this awkward little girl with a gap between her front teeth a strong, awkward woman to look up to.
Gil Grissom- in early February when I was 15 I decided to go back and watch all the old episode over again starting in season 1, by February 16 I was still in season 1 this date stick in my mind because it was on that day that I was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome. When I found this out it made sense of my childhood my shy awkwardness and obsessive personality, but my mom was in denial she told me that autism wasn’t real it was just something people created as an excuse not to do what they’re supposed to. What she meant as that I couldn’t possibly be autistic but I misunderstood it to mean that I couldn’t possibly be successful. While we don’t know for sure whether Grissom is autistic or not I can definitely say I see myself in him and it meant the world for me to see that at a time when I wanted so badly to keep fighting but it seemed everyone was telling me to just give up, Grissom gave me someone to look up to someone who faced the difficulty’s I was facing and made the most of it, he taught me that I can do it I can keep fighting.
If you had told me when I was 7 that 10 years from now I would be sitting in front of my laptop, crying, trying to think of the words to say goodbye to the show that was my life for so long, I would think you were crazy because up until now I thought CSI would go on forever. I thought that every week for the rest of my life I would be able to sit down and watch the newest episode and while I can’t do that I will never give up on CSI even if it means watching the same 337 episodes over and over again that’s what I’ll do. This show has meant too much to me for to long for me to just give it up. So, thank you to the writers for creating such a wonderful show, thank you to the actors for portraying such great characters flawlessly, and thank you to everyone else who has ever been involved in creating even a single episode for giving me and countless people like me something to look forward to every week.

thank you to everyone who participated in c.s.i. appreciation week and made it a success!
we had more than 176 graphics, gif sets, fanvids, fanfics, original fan artworks, text posts, metas, and quotes posted in our tag over the course of this week! it’s been amazing to see the c.s.i. fandom come together to celebrate the stories and characters we love so much. our numbers may not be large, but we have an amazing community full of talented, thoughtful, and creative people!
thank you so much to everyone who contributed---and to everyone who reblogged and help to spread the word!
as we look forward to tomorrow’s finale, we’ll still be checking the tag in case anyone would like to make any “last minute” or “catch up” posts.
here’s looking back on a great week and looking forward to “immortality”! it’s been a wild ride, these last fifteen years, and especially in the last week. thank you, nerd squad, for being a part of it.
Around a year ago in my ceramics class we were allowed to make three ceramic pieces of our choice, I of course chose CSI. And even though I never got around to starting the third piece, I’m still pretty damn proud of of these two. 😊
As excited as I am I AM NOT READY FOR THIS!
CSI Appreciation Week: Day 7
There’s no going back to the start again, time will tell us how the story end. So beautiful, we can make it right. The world is our tonight.
The only thing i have is everything to lose. I will lay it on the line for you, to be here by my side. The world is ours tonight.

csiaw day 7: whatever you want: love letters to the original six (team graveyard)
to gil grissom:
thank you for bringing this brilliant, ambitious, flawed, and wonderful team together. thank you for never playing politics, for respecting women and lgbtqia+ people and the differently abled and racial minorities and those with less institutional power than yourself. thank you for sharing your mind and your wisdom, for loving science and always staying curious. thank you for your leadership and compassion. thank you for having quirks and little grissom things. thank you for being such a complex character and such an all around humanist. thank you for following the evidence and for believing above everything that it only takes one person to save a life.
you are truly the once and forever king.
to catherine willows:
thank you for relentlessly chasing after the things you want in life. thank you for being bold, for standing up for yourself and for other women. thank you for being unapologetic about who you are and where you came from. thank you for being clever and courageous and for always having your team member’s backs. thank you for being so many things—a leader, a mother, a law enforcement professional, las vegas royalty, a dancer, one hell of a second, one hell of a first—and above all for always being yourself. there was nothing quite like that glint in your eye when you were hot on a case and suddenly knew you could solve it.
you are the once and forever queen.
to warrick brown:
thank you for being the rock of the team. thank you for constantly trying to better yourself and to be there for everyone. thank you for having integrity—for refusing to let any person or addiction or circumstance own you. thank you for never backing down from your convictions. thank you for being kind to children and old women, for leading a life that would have made your grandmother so proud. thank you for being a musician, a mentor, a friend, and a big brother. thank you for never forgetting your neighborhood or community, for being their guardian angel, even after you were gone. you did so much good in your life, and who knows what else you could have done if only you had more time.
goodnight, sweet prince. rest in peace.
to nick stokes:
thank you for being so genuinely good. thank you for continually learning and for wanting to do right by those around you. thank you for maintaining your belief in humanity even after having so many terrible things happen to you—from abuse to kidnapping to being held at gunpoint and shot and hurt and having your heart broken again and again. thank you for championing both the living and the dead. thank you for being sweet, for loving dogs and football and random bird trivia. thank you for your loyalty to the team. everyone is so proud of you, and you deserve to be where you are.
you’re a good man, pancho.
to sara sidle:
thank you for proving that our circumstances don’t define us. thank you for actively choosing to do good, despite coming from the home that you did. thank you for your feminism, for your scholarship, for your professional ambition. thank you for being brave, for defending battered women and forgotten children and people who have been knocked down by the system. thank you for having passion. thank you for never giving up on anything. thank you for always striving to solve the case, to save the day, to make it just one step further. thank you for being flawed, for your harshness and awkwardness and tendency to break down. thank you for always getting back up again. thank you for loving so fiercely. thank you for being so kind.
you are the heart of this team and this show.
to greg sanders:
thank you for being a light and for making others smile. thank you for caring so much for your friends. thank you for being so resourceful and creative. thank you for growing up without becoming jaded. thank you for learning the best of what grissom, catherine, warrick, nick, and sara had to offer you. thank you for bringing your own approach to being in the field. thank you for your goofiness. thank you for trying so hard not to let anyone down. thank you for loving history and surfing and coins and marilyn manson. thank you for being so esoterically and individually and uniquely and wonderfully you.
everyone is so proud of you, and you should be proud of you, too.
to c.s.i.:
thank you for the stories. thank you for the science. but most of all, thank you for these characters. the show taught us again and again and again that, above everything, the people are the thing that matters. thank you for taking a team of these scientists-turned-family and letting us be part of it. it has been our pleasure to follow the evidence.
Everything that happens to us, the good and the bad, is part of us. It took me a long time to realise that it doesn’t have to define who we are, we get to decide that.

CSI Appreciation Week, Day 7 - “whatever you want”
GSR - Someday (Nickelback)
Here is one of my few (and not very good) CSI tribute vids. I’ve never managed to get up the courage to post one before now, but I figured that, for this “whatever you want” day of this wonderful “csi appreciation week”, I’d give it a try and share one.
Here’s hoping for a happily ever after for our two favorite nerds!
CSI Appreciation Week Day 7 - Whatever you want
Thank You - CSI has been with me for my ups and down and it was always something that I could count on to make me laugh and feel good. You could cry with them in hard times and laugh with them at enjoyable moments. The CSI characters and the show and I never get tired of rewatching episode after episode. It will always have a special place in my heart.
GSR + admitting their love for each other
