Goliath is inconsolable. There is a deer across the street. He wants so to go out and play with the strange looking dog!
Rosa celebrating National Dog Day! Got some natural sunlight, ate some dandelion greens, and left a poo poo. This may be our hottest day of the year - too hot for Goliath.
Rosa wants to wish everyone a happy Valentine’s Day! She participated in the JJC Vet Tech Club’s “Kissing Booth” fundraiser.
Really, Goliath!
You’re the reason Mom is so grey! When Mom says to go outside and take care of :business” quickly -SHE MEANS IT. This morning we had a very active thunderstorm decending upon us as everyone was eating breakfast. Mom told Goliath to hurry up. Goliath just stood on the porch listening to the thunder and smelling the air. Mom had to literally push him off the porch and demand that he go “pee pee”. Not 30 seconds after he came back to the door to come in; a lightening strike that made everyone’s hair stand up, the house shake, and lit the whole backyard happened. Why do children (human and animal) always test the wisdom of parents?
“Silly Mama” says Rosa
Mama thinks variety is good for the soul. That being said, she gave me a nice juicy raspberry then put three superworms in my bowl. That was over an hour agao. I will look at the worms. She even tried to give me a worm with the tongs -I JUST SHOOK HER OFF! I know I usually get two berries at a time and will eat six worms if offered. Sometimes you just have to show who’s boss! Haha Mama!
Update - three hours later; worms still there. I did do a good sized poo poo. Mama was cleaning the house and didn’t see it right away so I stepped in it for her. I GET ANOTHER BATH!!

Rosa loves her baths!
Look at me enjoying the bath. I am striking a pose for the camera. Then Mom TOOK ME OUT! The water wasn’t even cold yet. I threw such a fit;got water EVERYWHERE! Mom claimed she had too many other things to do. OH, I also got some car hair in my mouth when Nelly got too close - Mom turned around for just a few seconds. Don’t think that cat will bother my bath again anytime soon.
Poor Nelly
We just had a lightening strike so close it made my hair stand up. She is still under the loveseat crying out to me. She won’t come out. We had severe thunderstorms late this week while I was at work - that day she was under the lobeseat when I came home and wouldn’t come out til I fed them dinner. The strike today made Goliath wimper and come to me for reassurance too. Going to be a long night. Putting the TV on now to help mask the noise.
Rosa ate greens!
Bee pollen does work to entice a reluctant Bearded Dragon to eat their greens. She had to be fed with the bamboo tongs, but she ate five tong pinches! I also dunked a raspberry in calcium and gave it to her as a reward for good eating - I’m such a mom.
A new toy for Lorenzo
Sometime overnight Nelly helped Lorenzo remove the bag of crickets from the cupboard. He was batting at it and carrying it around when I awoke this morning. Now he is trying to figure out how to open the cupboard again (I have to tape it closed because Nelly can open child locks; She must have worked on the tape most of the night.) I have re-inforced the tape - hope it holds. The poor crickets seemed pretty scared - NO NOISE - they are large so they cheep.
Another first for Goliath
This afternoon we took a weekend walk (that is on the bike trail near us that goes behind the college). Just as we were turning to the college grounds a large wild turkey popped up and ran away! Goliath has never seen a turkey. He stopped dead in his tracks then gave me a questioning look. I am grateful he did not decide to run after it - it startled me too so I wouldnot have been ready for a sudden 64 lb lunge.
How to exercise your dragon
Put a single cricket in the habitat. Rosa is such a poor hunter that she can’t catch it before it hides; she runs around chasing it though. An added bonus - Nelly runs to see what all the commotion is about - she gets exercise too!
Nelly is angry!
Mom has returened to working outside the home. Nelly took it nicely for a week. She has now descided it has to stop. Wednesday she pushed a can of Pringles off the top of the fridge for Goliath 3/4 of a can - GONE. Thursday she opened the linen closet and removed all the sheet sets. Everything seams in place today; wonder what she is planning for next week - Mom is scared.
