J. MURPHY + SCARS , PART 1.
whip-like lines down his back, specifically around his hips. his mom was a bit too fond of the belt, and it would often scar due to the severity of the swipe and the fact that he didn’t get any medical care for the wounds that were left behind.
other generalized scars from this time-period: a few little scratches on his knees and one slightly larger scar on his palm. all from falling against metal and things of the sort as a kid.
laceration along his right cheekbone. the fight with wells in episode two bestowed upon him his very first scar from the ground. it wasn’t wells who gave him the scar, rather, a stick in the mud ( literally ) caught his skin during the last punch from wells. the wound on his nose does not scar, but his cheek does.
rope burn on his neck. the rope that was used to hang him was far too thin, and bit into his skin and cut it open as soon as the bucket was kicked from beneath his feet. the longer he hung there, the deeper the rope dug into his skin and by the time he was cut down it was deep enough to scar… especially since he didn’t get medical care for it.
a broken nose. his nose gets broken for the first time here, directly after charlotte dies, bellamy breaks his nose AND reopens the earlier wound on his cheek. he sets his nose later, alone, but it still doesn’t look the same.
several deep-set scars along his torso and his back. after his banishment, the grounders took him fairly quickly. he didn’t even make it a full day on his own. they were quick to try and get information from him, which he gave freely. numbers, names… everything that he could spill, he did. the problem was that he didn’t know as much as they thought he would. they kept asking for more. more about those in space, more about bellamy and clarke. he didn’t know enough. burning knives were stuck into him in various places. along his kips and down his stomach. they were kind enough to leave his binder on, once they figured out what it was for.
his hands are laced with tiny scars, much like paper-cuts, and his nails are either malformed or missing entirely. these, are by far, his most sensitive scars. both mentally and physically. his hands are sensitive to temperature changes post-healing and are extremely sensitive to texture changes. he struggles with gathering food off plants etc. his nail beds often crack and bleed without the protective nail there to protect them.
