Here's my brief reasoning for my designs😛Ngl as I was writing these it made me realize I did just do a lot of stuff based on vibes with no other reasoning, esp for Sarge.

RED TEAM

Simmons - I think out of all the characters pictured, he’d be the second tallest so I tried to make him look tall and a biittt lanky just from his headshot so I gave him a long neck. Decided to give him a normal robot eye so his nerd glasses fit better… #cyborg moment

Sarge - I KNOWW he's canonically like 29 but I just couldn't resist💔I think he would be the second shortest because of that comment Tex made about him. Strong features for a very strong headed character

Grif - Messy unkempt hair.. I should have gone harder with it but I know that boy does not brush when he should. Gave him some soft features for him to appear a bit sleepy (?) but still yk active (debatable) and present

Donut - The guy ever. I gave him a buzz to convey his naivete and his rookie status. I think it would be really funny that despite all the stereotypes and negative ways his team views him in, he would be the most chiseled and “masculine” looking out of all of them because he actually takes care of himself. Scar from being exploded 💔 After they’re out of blood gulch I think he’d grow his hair out tho.

Lopez - Not pictured but I don't think Lopez would have a face. I think he'd just be his suit of armor and I’m not drawing all that again.

BLUE TEAM

Church - made him look a bit like the director but younger cause I assume the fragments were made a longer time ago. Thick eyebrows to make him look even madder when he crashes out cuz I think it's funny.

Caboose - Can’t even lie the bandages were for the aesthetic. I think he would be the tallest and strongest out of everyone. Curly hair fits him to me. I tried to give him soft but strong features. Negative cantal tilt because I think it makes him look friendly but also stocky.

Tucker - I think that when he becomes the king alien god and gets the energy sword he would get a makeover. Like unnatural electric Turquoise eyes to kinda hint on the alieness (?) of his power. Energy sword braid cuz it looks cool and I like to keep symbolism so on the nose its practically turning into the nose.

Kaikaina - My beloved ❤️ Made her look similar to Grif because they are the siblings ever. I gave her short hair because I think she would experiment with her style a LOT and would keep it short for the ease of putting on wigs (or, an excuse for me to draw her in a variety of hairstyles LMAO). Not fully happy with how I drew her but there's always the next six billion times I draw her. I gave her purple makeup because it compliments her yellow armor.

Tex - Made her look like Allison. I think that it is interesting how she was made in the image and expected to be exactly like a dead woman she doesn't even know and her arc is about breaking out of that mold. I think making her look like Alison has hella angst potential. But I’ll try to save my full Tex analysis for a better post LOL. I think she would have an uninterested expression most of the time.
