Maybe the real you is the one that wants what goes against what you have always done. It’s uncomfortable, but if it wasn't genuine, you would not feel it.

But there is another explanation: social indoctrination that forces you in some way to want that. I actually don't know, it is really ambiguous. But you shouldn't deny that a force inside you goes against what you have always been. Put the name you want into it.

I feel that that's you against what you have been forced to be by your circumstances, your reactions, your protections. All of that caused by your surroundings. It is you against the world in some way.

I don't have the answer yet, but I think that it's interesting to think about. Was that fear, an intuition, or a reaction? Have you ever felt betrayed by change, or discovered?Have you looked back and grieved who you used to be?

In both sides you feel betrayed.
