Photo Meme from: @blackcoffeefoam
ALERT DOG: A photo i took myself. the goal is to find a comical way to make the dog seem as if could relate to a human and have human thoughts.
SARCASTIC KERMIT: an iteration of an original internet meme. I just added my own caption and repeated kermit images for content.
I am still playing around with typeface and what direction I want to really take
Just playing around with meme concepts and ideas centered around real footage dogs and finding a witty or comedic caption.
A final iteration to the “not my business” kermit meme. I wanted to explore the concept of taking references to experiences and turn it into a comical exploration with this meme. I chose to re-iterate the context of this original meme into reference and relevance in terms of examples of experiences everyone has come across at some point and to stem a reaction.
In the original internet meme, kermit refers to knowing certain information (or tea) about people but sarcastically choosing to keep it to himself. So instead I just wanted to play around with manipulating Kermit into a different character and environment, but still keep that idea that the essence of Kermit is still present.
The first 5 are memes that were already made and found on the internet via google images and “know your meme”. The last three are my own iterations on the same meme focusing on related experiences of design students in UIC. I made these 3 iterations with photoshop and wanted to appeal to the ironic comedy that most of us have faced during our time as design students.
The formula of this meme is to bring up the conversation of a common thought or experience that many have had, and then later add an ironic concept that can cause a reaction or relation to the viewer. The content can always change but must relate to the image in a way that causes reaction, that mostly consists of dark humor (but comedic in general.
This meme is used for a reaction in the viewer to relate to the content in a comical or dark humor way.
The function of this meme is for comedy
Supercut Final:
This is the final sequence of “breaking the fourth wall” skits, in an attempt to show the different types of ways filmmakers contribute to breaking through that wall of engaging with the audience
