"I thought I was never going to see you again."

Kopa sighed sadly “ my father wasn’t happy, he kept me under watch with lionesses everyday. He didn’t trust me, I tried telling him Kovu. I’m sorry but I failed. He still holds a deep grudge against your mother. I really am sorry for not being able to see you.” He said as he lowered his ears before he heard his father rushing up to him “ Kopa! Thank goodness your alright!” Kopa growled at him “ father how could you break your promise? You said I could do this on my own. But I saw a glimpse of Timon and Pumbaa in the bushes.” Simba shook his head “ it’s a good thing I did. I almost lost you, no more hunts for you. Not now not ever.” Kopa was shocked “ but dad! Kovu saved me from ” he was interrupted as Simba snarled at the name “ Kovu?” He looked at the lion and snarled at him by leaping in front of his son to protect him.

Kopa sighed and shook his head “ I don’t really know Kovu. Maybe you saved my life? ” he suggested while shrugging a little “ but anyway I’m glad your here Kovu. It’s good to see you again.” He smiled and hugged his friend.

He returned the hug “It’s good to see you again too. How have you been?” He asked as he started walking.

Kopa smiled and started to walk “ I’ve been alright. Bored because you weren’t in my life. Your my best friend Kovu and nothing will ever change that. I trust you.” He smiled. (Cut posts?)

Kovu tried his best to hide his sadness. Kopa was his friend, how could he betray his trust. but he knew he couldn’t just disobey Zira. Hopefully, if he succeeded Kopa wouldn’t know it was him. “Yeah, You’re more then I deserve really. It was hard, you were really the only thing giving me a reason to power through each day.”

Kopa blinked in surprise “ really? I was the only reason?” He asked. He was surprised to say the least “ and I don’t care what you say Kovu, your my best friend, now and forever.” He smiled and gave him a little playful nudge.

He smiled and nudged Kopa back. “Yeah of course. And you’ll always be my Best friend.” he looked up ahead. “Hey, uh. How much longer till we get where we’re going?”

Kopa smiled as they arrived at Pride Rock “ we have arrived. Why don’t you come sleep in the den with us? ” he smiled but as they made there way Simba jumped in front of Kovu and glared “ he sleeps outside.” Was all he said before heading into the den and Kopa sighed sadly as he looked at Kovu “ sorry Kovu. ” he said as he meant it giving him a quick nuzzle before heading inside.

Kovu leaned back, ready to strike. He could hear Zira in his head now, Kill him kill him. This would be his only chance. But taking another look, Simba was bigger then him, although not by much. He wasn’t sure if he could take him, or what Kopa would do if he actually did manage to kill Simba.

Then he thought of another plan. Sorry Zira, this might take a while. He calmed himself down for a moment “I humbly ask to join your pride.”

Kopa’s jaw dropped when he asked if he could join his pride, he looked at his father “ dad please listen to him.” He pleaded but Simba wouldn’t listen “ No, I banished you with the other outsiders.” He said narrowing his eyes at him. He didn’t trust rouges, let alone Kovu.

Kovu raised his head proudly. “I have left the Outsiders. I am a rouge. I saw how Zira only cared about her petty revenge and how she felt nothing for me. I was just another object.” He didn’t believe that at all. He knew Zira loved and cared for him… Right? “So judge me now for what I am, or am I to be blamed for a crime I didn’t commit?”

Kopa looked at his father “ father please listen to him.” He said again as Simba snarled and started to pace back and forth as Nala tried to calm him down. Rafiki then showed up out of nowhere “ hey you! How dare you save de kings son!” He grinned. Simba froze and looked at Kovu “ you saved him? Why?” He asked before sighing “ for now I reserve judgment. We will see who you really are.” He said and turned to walk off to clear his head.

He smiled proudly. His lie worked, for now at least! Now he just needs to wait for Simba to be alone and unsuspecting. He turned to Kopa “He actually agreed. Why couldn’t he just do that forever ago? Could have saved us a lot of trouble.”

Two years had passed since that day, Kopa had failed to try and convince his father that he made friends with a outlander. As the years passed he had grown into a handsome lion. With a thick mane very fit body. It was his day to hunt and he smiled as he then started to try and find some prey, he crouched low and sneaked off.

Two years. Two years of daily training and brainwashing to make Kovu into the perfect heir. It changed him into a powerful lion. The memory of Kopa had slowly diminished thanks to Zira. She made sure he was going to the perfect pawn in her plan.Nuka and Vitani were already set in place to start the fire. It would be the perfect distraction to get Kovu into the pridelands and to Simba. They ran across the plains, setting fires as they went. Soon a giant wall of fire was moving quickly inward to the Pridelands, and right into Kopa’s path.

Kopa who was chasing a prey suddenly saw the fire and gasped “ oh no!” He said and tried to run the opposite direction. The fire however was spreading to fast and he coughed from the black smoke that filled the air. He felt his vision begin to fade, he struggled to escape but stopped suddenly as the flames were now in front of him and he turned but found himself trapped as he coughed more and more before he finally collapsed.

Kovu was making his way through the cover of the fire. Even with the smoke he could still be spotted. Movement caught his eye and he stopped, looking over to what it was. He saw another lion was caught in the fire. He smirked, How do you get caught in a fire like this? he thought to himself. However something about that lion made him forget about his mission for a second.

He moved closed to the now collapsed Lion and he stopped again. Sudden realization hit him, this wasn’t just any Pridelander, it was Kopa!

Kovu knew the trouble he would be in if Zira found out he abandoned the plan but something in him couldn’t bare to leave Kopa for dead. In one swift movement he picked him up and carried him out of the fire. Heading farther into the Pridelands, now hoping someone would spot him.

Kopa was still out cold, though he felt himself being picked up and moving fast. Was someone helping him? He was to weak to try to open his eyes. He wanted to wake up but he just couldn’t and in the distance Simba noticed the fire, he gasped and ordered Zazu to check it out as he was worried for his son Kopa. Simba then ran towards the fire to see if he could help his son and as Zazu flew he noticed a dark coated lion carrying Kopa to safety “ I must tell Simba!” He said and flew to the king to inform him. Kopa groaned a little as he felt himself starting to wake up “ w-wha? What happened?” He asked in a weak voice.

Kovu heard his friend starting to wake up. He felt relived that he was ok. “It’s ok, you’re safe now.” Kovu said, slowing down to a walk now that they were far enough away from the fire. He gently let Kopa down. “I don’t think the fire will get here anytime soon, you can rest for a moment.

Kopa coughed as he was still trying to wake up fully after collapsing from the smoke. He then looked up as he was set down and heard a voice. He saw the dark coated lion, something about this lion was familiar but he couldn’t place his paw on it. His mind was fuzzy, he figured it must’ve come from the smoke “ where am I? What happened?” He asked still confused.

“You got caught in a fire. But you’re safe, in the Pridelands.” Kovu wasn’t sure why Kopa hadn’t recognized him yet. Hopefully he still remembered, maybe he just needs to recover. “What were you doing over there anyway?”

Soon a giant wall of fire was moving quickly inward to the Pridelands, and right into Kopa’s path.

Kopa looked around and made sure no one was following him, he missed his best friend Kovu as he walked to the outland borders. He knew he would get in trouble but he didn't dare he missed Kovu. He hoped that Zira didn't treat him to bad, he hoped she wasn't feeding him more lies about himself and his dad.

Kovu was slowly walking near the border. Exhausted from the Long day of “training” Zira had for him. He noticed someone crossing the border out of the corner of his eye. He turned around ready to chase off whatever it was. He immediately felt relief once he recognized who it was.“Hey!” He called out as he attempted to run over to his friend, but it was more of just a fast paced walk.

Kopa smiled instantly when he saw his friend “ Kovu!” He said and ran to him “ I’m so happy to see you. I’ve missed you.” He said and before he knew it he was hugging him “ I’ve missed you my friend.” He said as he really meant it.

Kovu winced as he was suddenly hugged. “I missed you too. Sorry I haven’t been around. Zira doesn’t really like me having free time. She says it’s a waste when I could be doing something useful.”

Kopa sighed as he let go of the hug “ it’s fine. I just wish you were born in the pride lands. Don’t believe everything Zira says Kovu. Especially things about me or my father. ” he said as he really did hope Zira didn’t fill his head with lies about him or his dad.

“I try not to, But I have to at least act like it. If I don’t she forces me to skip meals until I agree with her, or harder training sessions.” He sighs “I’m normally really tired and sore after regular ones. Those are just horrible.” He grumbles and sits down “Why can’t I just be an exception? Why won’t Simba just let me at least visit?”

Kopa really felt bad for his friend, it must be really hard to live with Zira as his mother “ your my friend Kovu and nothing will ever change that. And I’ll try to ask my father if he can let you visit. He can’t say no to me as I’m his son. I promise Kovu, I’ll find a way for you to come. ”

He looked up at Kopa “Thanks. It’s just, if he knew me like you do then he would have no problem allowing me in, but he never gives me a chance. I just hope he does listen to you.” He smiles, feeling new hope, “If he does, then he might actually see how I am.” He slowly gets up. “And if he doesn’t… at least you tried.”

Kopa slowly got up to “ I swear I’ll try everything to make him give you a chance. You were raised by Zira. My father isn’t a tyrant nor did he kill his uncle Scar. It was the hyenas who killed him in the end. Just promise you won’t ever forget me if we can’t see each other again if I do fail. We are close, you and I. We share a strong bond.”
