Lookout (drama)
I seriously did not expect this drama to be this good. The drama is not centered on romantic kinda love or whatever, it’s actually an action kind of drama with corruption, revenge etc… But unlike other “action dramas” it doesn’t get boring like Man to Man (yeah it was not my cup of tea even though I love action movies/series). Indeed it’s really intense and stressful and this is what I’m looking for in a action drama. And Lee Si-young is sooooo badass, love it! This drama is definitely in my top 5!
When you see your friend on your way to detention
He’s hated by every men. Especially those ones who love his fiancée.
IU is the cutest human being I’ve ever seen, seriously. She’s so humble and down to earth. And btw you guys should really watch Hyori’s Bed and Breakfast, it’s a very peaceful and relaxing show with cute and funny moments. It makes you want to enjoy more the nature and the beauty of life. You meet different types of people and each person coming has a story which is very interesting. And Hyori and Sangsoon are a goal haha
I just can’t handle her beauty

I already knew how this drama will end, but my heart still feels heavy after watching it. Hymn of Death is inspired by the true tragic story of Korean playwright Kim Woo Jin and Korea’s first professional soprano Yun Sim Deok who committed suicide together in 1926 by jumping off of a passenger ship en route to Busan. Their suicide created a sensation in Korea back in the days and their story became an eternal theme in movies and dramas.
I’m not sure how close this drama is to what actually happened but basically, their love story is an affair. Kim Woo Jin is already a married man when he met Yun Sim Deok in Japan. They fell madly in love with each other, had numerous secret dates, and confide with each other through love letters. The drama details their life struggles - Kim Woo Jin’s father’s opposition for him to pursue writing which he loved, forcing him to take over their business instead and Yun Sim Deok’s difficulties to make ends meet for her family.
I recommend you to watch this if:
-You’re a fan of this genre
-You love Lee Jong Suk and Shin Hye Sun
-You miss While You Were Sleeping (you’ll see a looooooot of WYWS casts here like a mini-reunion!)
-You’re also curious about these star-crossed lovers
-You’re interested that it’s based on a true story
All in all, the drama tackled the main points but I agree with Lee Jong Suk when he said in an Instagram post that the narrative is lacking. I thought I was the only one who think that way. Anyway, the production is really good and Lee Jong Suk and Shin Hye Sun’s acting prowess will not disappoint you. Moreover, it’s only a 6-episodes drama (more or less 30 minutes each episode) so it’s not that bad to give this a chance! 😉
