I’m feeling a way about some of the more social justice-y parts of this site. Like I feel like there is a huge fake news problem that is not being addressed. I see a lot of “news” that is just a Twitter post and I’ve been recently trying to look these stories up and either can’t find a legit source or discover that it’s fake.

We need to start thinking critically about shit. Twitter isn’t news. I know that mainstream media fails us a lot but there are a lot of reputable news organizations out there that aren’t the big news networks that you can source from.

While I’m talking about sources I really feel like people who ask non-confrontationally for a source don’t need to be attacked or ridiculed. There are people out there doing that to be an asshole but if you are posting about something that can be sourced just do it. Also sometimes people post niche things that are hard to just google. You’re talking about it so you must have access to sources. Use them.

Another thing that is really just a pet peeve is someone posting something like “SINCE NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT THIS SHIT…” and then siting an article from like CNN or some shit. Yay! You sighted your source! But also you cited like a mainstream news outlet so someone is talking about it and shaming people for not knowing something is ridiculous. We have lives! We can’t all be scouring the internet for news 24/7. It’s unrealistic. Just share the news and move the fuck on.

Also she was just clarifying, why y’all acting like she was the one who came up with the idea? You don’t know who came up with the idea, it was probably a team effort, more than one person thought of that “joke,” she just clarified during an interview. I’m livid.
