Three examples of Etruscan sarcophagi made for married couples. The first two are currently in the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and the lower one is in the Etruscan Museum of Rome. Not all Etruscan sarcophagi art featured two spouses—many were individual people, families, or scenes from mythology, so we can assume that these examples were an active choice by affectionate couples.
