woody allen, the irredeemable creep whose obvious misogyny was misinterpreted as creative genius by the college-boy mentality.
#gosh i wonder why sylvia plath’s poetry is important to young women when we’re bombarded with so much misogynistic literature written by ~the greats~ of the 20th century #if you want to talk about highly romanticized and overrated writers we can talk about bukowski hemingway kerouac ginsberg and so on #who were not only basic writers but were also vile people irl #i don’t understand how people can idolize pedophiles and wife beaters and then mock people who like plath? ~fionaapples
Oh wow yes, let’s talk about how Plath’s struggle with motherhood and desire for bodily autonomy aren’t relatable to a college-age teenage girl. Let’s talk about how teenage girls are twice as likely to develop depression as their male counterparts. Let’s talk about how countless other men have had their deaths romanticized beyond belief without any question, but the second women grasp onto someone they’re shot down as silly and overly invested.

This 14-year-old Muslim American student was detained for bringing a homemade clock to school
Ahmed Mohamed, a 14-year-old Muslim student was arrested at his high school in Irving, Texas, after bringing a homemade clock to class, which school officials mistook for a bomb. Mohamed showed his engineering teacher first, but when the alarmed went off later in the day, that’s when the trouble started.
A wild magikarp appeared!
I absolutely need this for my future children

Olafur Eliasson - The weather project, 2003
Created for the Turbine Hall of Tate Modern, London, this site-specific installation employed a semi-circular screen, a ceiling of mirrors, and artificial mist to create the illusion of a sun. Aluminium frames lined with mirror foil were suspended from the ceiling to create a giant mirror that visually doubled the volume of the hall – along with the semi-circular screen mounted on the far wall, its long edge abutting the mirror ceiling. Backlit by approximately 200 mono-frequency lights, the semi-circle and its reflection created the image of a massive, indoor sunset seen through the artificial mist emitted into the room. By walking to the far end of the hall, visitors could see how the sun was constructed, and the reverse of the mirror structure was visible from the top floor of the museum.

Equality Golbat: “When you donate hair to Locks of Love, there is an 80% chance it will wind up in the garbage.”
I can get similar odds by literally throwing my hair at a garbage can.
Statistically, a charity that uses less than two thirds of its donation money for its central mission is in the bottom 10% of charities, in terms of efficiency and fiscal responsibility. Locks of Love uses less than one third of the hair they receive. (and I’m pretty sure they aren’t using the hair to buy TV spots.)
I should also mention that they actually don’t give people hair. They sell it. What good is a charity that doesn’t give free things to people in need? That’s not a charity. That’s a for-profit business.
I recommend Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

Do not give them your precious locks!
Wigs for kids is also great. When I donated I went through them because they were the only group that would accept donations of just 8” (and hair that was dyed.) Either way, don’t do locks of love.
Spread the word, because people still think Locks of Love is THE hair charity, when in reality, they rather suck.
