“If you love a flower, don’t pick it up. Because if you pick it up, it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation.”

Calm your mind. Wipe your tears. Take a breath.
There’s nothing you can do in this moment except hope that by putting yourself out there you’ve awoken something.
Time will tell.
It’ll be or it won’t.
Either way, you’ll find your way.

— Wes Angelozzi

“Knowing how to wait. To conceal. To absorb. To surrender. To acknowledge the best. To change the worst into the not so bad. How to lose and recover in the same instant that frivolous thing, a taste for life.”
— Colette, quoted in “Colette: A Taste for Life,” published c. 1975 (via violentwavesofemotion)
“She came to understand that her own happiness was a choice, so she made a promise to herself to hold her own well-being sacred.”

“In order to move on, you must understand why you felt what you did and why you no longer need to feel it.”
— Mitch Albom (via purplebuddhaquotes)
“I think some people are just inexplicably bonded. Drawn by forces beyond their own comprehension, they have no choice but to gravitate toward one another. Destined by fate to keep crossing paths until they finally get it right.”
— L.B. Simmons (via purplebuddhaquotes)
“The hardest thing about moving forward is leaving something behind - and usually it’s a part of ourselves.”

A year ago (April 7) I had my first major surgery to repair my Achilles’ tendon after tearing it on this field, in that corner, in these shoes. A year later, words can’t explain how happy I am to be back playing the game I love. I had no expectations for the 1 year mark, just that I wanted to get better every day, whatever that looked like. I never imagined I’d be back playing at a competitive level, not to mention scoring goals! 😊 The human body and mind are amazing things and, while I never thought it would happen to me, I learned and continue to learn so much from this journey. For that, I am thankful. #AchillesHEALED!
“I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.”
— F. Scott Fitzgerald (via purplebuddhaquotes)
Be the one who nurtures and builds. Be the one who has an understanding and forgiving heart. Be the one who looks for the best in people. Leave people better than you found them.

The things she most wanted to tell him would lose their meaning the moment she put them into words.

Last week was 9 months post-op #Achilles repair, and it was a great fucking week. PR’d my front squat and sumo deadlift, as well as reintroducing the 18” box into WODs. AND THEN I got to lace up my cleats and step back onto the pitch for the first time since I tore lefty. It. Was. Glorious. #bestweekever #iwasliterallyglowing I’m so thankful for the adaptability of #crossfit and my coach’s creativity that helped me be able to reenter the game at nearly the same level I left at. Can’t wait to keep going. #achillesHEAL #04072017 #latergram
