hot tip for anyone and EVERYONE who does renders in blender: A simple step will improve everything! I'm sure you've been ennoyed by those sharp edges or seams running down your sims legs, arms, sides, and neck. All you need to do is select those vertices and Vertex > Remove doubles. (sometimes selecting your ENTIRE mesh can merge unwanted vertices especially is there's lots of details and accessories, so just select around the area you want to clean up. In my example I did select everything at once so if you look at the bottom of the dress and edge of the sleeves they aren't as sharp as before as well.)
