Stuff like this always makes me remember how sensationalized the ​“hide your kids, hide your wife” video was, also known as the “bedroom intruder meme” 🗿.

The guy was clearly one of the earliest memes of a black person expressing frustration publicly (it was a news report of the man explaining how he’d run off a predator trying to rape his sister by the way) but in a “funny way” (the way that nbs and whites find entertaining at least because they don’t see black trauma as something that should be given grace, and shown empathy right from the very start over their own intial enjoyment because that’s no fun), and something like this became a huge joke. Like, this meme was literally everywhere in the early 2000’s, and I think people forgot that his sister was almost raped 🧍🏾‍♀️…………………………..!

I could just be in a uniquely awesome corner of the internet but I have yet to see a single boring Tucker design.

Everyone just goes wild with him. Every piece of fanart I see has a different take on his hair style and his facial features and its all different, but with one exception (and said exception actually got better at drawing him) its never White Man Painted Black or anything like that. There's always clear effort put into to making it clear that is a Black Man and his name is Lavernius Tucker.

And also every fanfic I've read emphasises the fact he has brown eyes. Even in ones where alien bullshit causes them to have something funky going on, the fact they're usually or once were brown is usually the part focused on and thats also awesome.

Also the fact that fanfic authors don't just ignore Tucker and there are a decent amount of fanfics about him.
