Nail of the Day: Essie In the Cab-ana. It's that time again... Essie's 2013 Resort Collection is out! In the Cab-ana is a beautiful tropical blue color. This blue is slightly muted, but it definitely still pops on your nails. It's very pigmented, but a little watery. I needed two coats for the opacity I wanted though. Overall I was very pleased with the application. I definitely see myself wearing this color a lot this summer!
They're not the same, they're similar!

This semester has been so busy, but it's almost over! I plan on going to Ulta soon, and buying a bunch of polishes to review! :)

Drugstore makeup haul: Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks in 020 Baby Pink, 045 Raspberry, and 030 Fuchsia. I also picked up the new Revlon Nearly Naked foundation in Vanilla. The Colorburst lipsticks are probably my favorite drugstore brand of lipsticks, they are highly pigmented and moisturizing! And so far I'm pretty impressed with the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation!
Oh by the way, it's back... the CVS up to 75% off cosmetic sale!

Nail of the Day: OPI Last Friday Night. This polish is from the 2010 Katy Perry collection. This polish has a very sheer light blue base with beautiful holographic glitter. It took 4 coats to achieve medium opacity. I really like the subtle hint of color and glitter on the nails, much like Teenage Dream. If my nails were longer, the visible nail line might bother me, but because my nails are short, it doesn't really matter.
Nail of the Day: Ulta Star Board. Today's polish comes from the Ulta Navy Sealed collection. It comes with 3 other polishes that I will be reviewing soon! This polish is a shimmery foil champagne/light gold color. The formulation of this polish really impressed me! Very smooth and opaque. I had no expectations since this was the first Ulta polish I ever tried, but I am very pleased with it. This polish stood out the most to me in the collection, and it just so happened to match my Christmas Eve dress. :D
Nail of the Day: China Glaze Skyscraper. Today's polish is a medium blue shade that has silver and blue micro glitter in it. The formulation was good, and took only two coats for opaqueness. I gravitate to polishes like this towards the holiday seasons. I think Skyscraper is a perfect New Years Eve color!
Nail of the Day: Revlon Colorstay in Rain Forest. Today's polish has a black/green base with green shimmer that has a hint of gold in it. Rain Forest has a great formulation, that surprisingly only needed two coats. To me, this color is very holiday appropriate, but it could also be worn anytime of the year. I absolutely love this line of nail polish, and I'm pretty sure it is officially my favorite drugstore line of polish!
My mom got me an awesome birthday present!
Nail of the Day: Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe. This polish has a jelly dark blue base, with blue micro glitter and chunky blue and green glitter. The colors really compliment each other well. It might sound like a lot going on for a nail polish, but Deborah Lippmann knows how to do glitter nail polish perfectly. It took about 3-4 thin coats for my preferred coverage, but the formulation on this polish is so good that it didn't clump or look messy at all. I recommend this polish, solely because I can't think of a dupe for it. Otherwise, the hefty price of $18 is kind of crazy at first glance. And at second and third glance. But after a year of wanting this polish, I decided to treat myself for my good grades this semester. (:

Nail of the Day: Nails on Fire, an inspired by The Hunger Games look! Using China Glaze Harvest Moon and Wet 'n Wild's Ebony Hates Chris. First I applied two coats of Ebony Hates Chris, and then I let it dry. Then I applied Harvest Moon to a makeup sponge, and dabbed the polish heaviest on the end of the nail, then applying it lighter as I reached the top of the nail bed. This creates the gradient look. Then I applied a topcoat. I think this look would be great for Halloween as well!
Impulse Buy: Tattered Flag Scarf from Free People. Oh my goodness, I am in love with this scarf! I've wanted it since I saw Missglamorazzi on YouTube wear it in one of her videos.
