         the END TIMES is getting a reboot and currently looking for new members to join its team !! whether you love it or hate it, the end times is new york’s spiciest gossip column. so, it should go without saying that we’re looking for some equally fiery personalities to match. if you’re interested in covering ( or exposing ) every nook and cranny of this great city ---- this job may be for you ! under the cut you’ll find a little bit of what will be asked of you as well as our application process !!

tl;dr this is simply to help run the gossip blog for @curehqs​ ! nothing too strenuous. i’m just not able to run the gossip blog on top of the main as well as my character account ! however, i know gossip blogs can be a lot of fun for groups and i’d love for us to have this as well !! * note ; plot drops / events are written and placed here but that is not part of the job. this is solely to help with the GOSSIP aspect of this blog. 

below is the application ! it runs very similar to our character application but just with some additional stuff to help me understand your schedule or if you want to expand upon your character. also don’t worry about formatting too much especially with the fun fact part. just put something that makes your character stand out or is interesting ! if you don’t think it works in the app just put a little * there and include it in the additional section !

『 ― it looks like ( oc name ) is looking for a job ! says here that ( he / she / they ) is/are currently ( age in letters ) years old. they describe themselves as ( + positive trait ) but admit to being ( - negative trait ) on some days. when asked to share a fun fact about themselves they shared ______________ ! that’s quite something. now if you ask me... it’ll get around the office pretty quick that they look an awful lot like ( faceclaim )

ooc: just tell me a little bit about your schedule ( how frequently you can get on, etc - don’t worry i don’t need you to be on every hour of the day. this just helps me line you up with other potential candidates so that everyone’s availability isn’t the same time for the most part. you don’t have to go into excruciating detail. a simple “i’m busy wednesdays and thursdays” would suffice. ), also include your timezone here, your alias/ooc name, and the characters you play. just so that i have all the info in one spot !! 

additional: this can be whatever you feel you might want to discuss. anything ooc you feel might be necessary to add --- or if you want to gush about your gossip writer/oc and sell them a bit. this is optional.

001. curehq’s first task  ———————-  hymns ! 

a hymn is a type of song, usually religious, specifically written for the purpose of adoration or prayer, and typically addressed to a deity or deities, or to a prominent figure or personification. The word hymn derives from Greek ὕμνος (hymnos), which means "a song of praise".

it’s finally time for our first task !! i’m sorry it took a little longer than anticipated but it is here now !! before i go on to explain what the task is about ( not too hard to guess ) i just want to clarify that there is NO DUE DATE for these. tasks can be completed at any time whenever you wish to do so. also tasks are NOT MANDATORY. it is just for fun and to get muse flowing. this task will be TWO PARTS but you can put it all under one post/graphic however you choose to complete it.

our first task will be to create TWO playlists for your character(s). i would suggest 5 songs MINIMUM, but you can make the playlists as long or as short as you’d like. you’re welcome to put your playlists on websites like: spotify or 8tracks, or you can just compile a list on a tumblr post or graphic !! whatever you are most comfortable with. for those of you who wish to make graphics i did find some nice PSDs which could work !! i will put links UNDER THE CUT, just be sure to read creator rules and give credit where it is due !! 

------------ PART ONE ;

for the first part of the this task, we ask you to create a playlist with songs that might remind you of your muse or best describe them. a character soundtrack. songs that when we give them a listen will tell us about your muse. you’re welcome to write little notes with the songs about why you chose it or lyrics that stand out ( but this is optional ). feel free to give it your own little touch ! 

------------ PART TWO ;

part two may be a little trickier for some of us, however, we’d like to see your character create a playlist or mix tape of songs they listen to ! it could be songs that they jam out to in private or a song that holds a special meaning to them. again, you’re welcome to make little headcanon notes on why you chose the song or to explain its significance. if you think your music taste doesn’t line up with that of your muse and you find yourself stumped i might suggest visiting spotify or 8tracks  playlists that carry songs in their genre.

001. CUREHQ’S FIRST EVENT  ———————-  CONCLUSION !

* this update deals with the following trigger warnings — members please tag accordingly when running threads ! tw: violence and death.

Despite METACTION’s wishes, most heroes found themselves involved in some shape or form when the attack broke out. Due to this, many lives were saved and casualties were kept to a minimum -------- but there’s a divide when it comes to the public’s opinion. Many are quite thankful and forever indebted but some still look to scapegoat all those who stepped in to help and fully believe that things would not have gotten so out of hand if the heroes had just left all alone. Regardless, lives were saved and for some that was enough. 

Due to one of their heads being injured and the severity of the attack --- METACTION has put all future events and plans on hold until they have decided what is best for the company. The majority of the funds earned from the event will go to helping those injured during the festival. This, again, leads to people pointing the fingers at heroes involved in the fight. Metaction going on pause is considered a big loss for the community. 

Those in power say a change will be coming and there’s talk that those who are still POWERED may be required to make it public knowledge. Not unlike the Sakovian accords. Those who were hit with DEPOWERING AMMUNITION will see their powers return within 48 HOURS of the festival.

Finally, the city will hold a memorial for those lost.

the event is now considered FINISHED. i want to say a big THANK YOU !! to everyone who partook in it. it really meant a lot to me to see you all be so involved with it and come up with some amazing threads. i know it’s a really busy time in our lives right now but things still moved SUPER well and everyone has just been so stellar. this was such a success and i am through the moon !! 

you are ALLOWED to continue your event threads !! you just AREN’T ALLOWED to start new ones. so don’t feel rushed to finish your event threads - there is no time that they have to be finished by ! 

we will have a plot drop coming up - nothing huge but i just need to work some things out with it first ! and i already have a task in mind, i just want to find a good time to post it. so those are some things we can expect to see !

001. CUREHQ’S FIRST EVENT  ———————-  UPDATE !

* this update deals with the following trigger warnings --- members please tag accordingly when running threads ! tw: violence, death, guns. 

A rumor no more. It shouldn’t surprise anyone when the event is run down, that the whispers were true. Things ran without a hitch for some hours. Children enjoyed the games, parents burned through their wallets, and the heroes entertained ----- but all good things must come to an end. Shortly after the event’s 7th hour the gate holding back protestors is taken down. 

A new group emerges. They stream from busses and vans spray painted with anti-meta slogans and imagery. Some hide their faces, others do not, the same can be said for their protective gear --- while some came decked out head to toe in combative armor, others have chosen to wear nothing more than the same dull jacket they’d sport on a rather nippy day. There is one thing that is consistent. Weapons. The group is equiped with what appears to be rather large guns, though they are not the type you’d come across at a hunting store or a shady back alley deal. Keen-eyed heroes and civilians know they’re too high-quality for a group such as this. 

Parents are quick to collect their children and attempt to flee ---- some of the more mundane protestors choose to discard their signs and follow suit. 

However, this event was supposed to be about peace. That was not forgotten by METACTION. One of their heads, a mutant woman, stands front and center, not willing to budge and not to be intimidated. Her mutantion is clear to see --- her skin a breathtaking shade of violet and her eyes shine like gems. For a little while there is a tense standoff ---- until a trigger happy protestor raises his gun and fires. The mutant woman drops and all hell breaks loose. There’s a rush to escape the premises but some stragglers are trampled or unable to leave their booths before the attackers rush the grounds. War has come to the festival. The police are calling for everyone to leave immediately, however, they will not be able to save everyone, nor themselves. Choices must be made.

-------- and on the ground the mutant woman breaths but the violet drains from her skin and suddenly her eyes are no different than yours or mine. 

okay !! here’s the update to our event. the festival has now been rushed by anti-mutant/meta protestors --- though they are NOT the one who were stationed at the fences. they are new and some are equipped to fight while others are not. They’re not the most tacticul bunch and some will be VERY easy to take out if your hero/villain/civilian decides to fight. again, Metaction did ask that superheroes do not get involved so it is a choice your character must make if they decide to stay and fight - though there may be consequences. 

!!  THIS IS IMPORTANT. some of the attackers ARE carrying a new form of weapon that depowers those with powers. it is very similar to what we see in X-MEN: THE LAST STAND. if you need a refresher here is a CLIP. this is what struck the mutant woman who initially stood against the protestors. she is not dead, just depowered and unconscious. your characters don’t need to save her as she is an NPC and will survive no matter what. the effects of this will be TEMPORARY. therefore, if you want your character to be struck by one of these darts - you can write that out --- they will NOT lose their powers permanently. just until the end of the event. this will be explained more in a completion post at the end of the event ! 

in addition, those attacking the event will have regular guns/arms, but still they’re too highquality to have just been found by them or bought at a regular store. our smarter characters will be able to deduce that they’ve likely been given their weapons by a third party. 

* also you do not need to write this event out in your current threads - if you want to run a thread just about enjoying the festival, you can do that and say it took place before the attack. this is just for those who want to write out some action and to move the story along. you’re welcome to introduce this update into your current threads as well, it’s just up to how you and your partner feel. 

THE EVENT WILL BE CONSIDERED COMPLETED: WEDNESDAY APRIL 3RD.

after wednesday you will NOT be allowed to start NEW event threads - however you’re welcome to carry on old ones until they’ve reached their conclusion. after wednesday you are also free to continue your threads from before the event.

001. CUREHQ’S FIRST EVENT  ----------------------  STREET FESTIVAL !

In tragedy, unity is born. In the wake of the mass depowering, depowered individuals have found each other in a multitude of different ways. Some have started charities to find a cure and support their fellow depowered, while others reunite weekly in support groups. But time has passed and little has changed. Now they look to the public for support.

METACTION is a group created after the depowering by a like-minded group of mutants and metahumans impacted by the change. In a few months time, they've made a name for themselves and have caught government attention. Now that they feel they're fully established they've decided to host a STREET FESTIVAL to help eradicate the stigma around powered and depowered individuals. There's hope that with enough support the event may push the government to fully recognize the depowering crisis and aid the depowered to return to their original state.

And with the threat of Thanos looming overhead there is no better time to act than now.

Metaction has extended invites to all superheroes, however, it is stressed that no-one is to cause any trouble or jump into action ( that means no weapons/gadgets/tools allowed ). The event is to be peaceful and there is a strong police presence should anything not go according to plan. You are there only to show your support ( should you wish ) and enjoy the festivities. Though protesters lurk just outside the perimeter, brandishing signs and expressing their disgust - this should NOT be your concern ------ and neither should the rumors that an anti-mutant organization is planning to storm the event.

This event is a street festival hosted by a well known Mutant/Meta organization that was created after the depowering. They are a peaceful organization and have stressed that they do not want any conflict during the event. Streets have been closed off and as part of the deal they have increased police presence to deal with any protesters. They've invited superheroes to show up to enjoy the festivities but also because they believe it will help their cause if they are backed by well-known individuals. Your character does not have to be a superhero to attend, villains could be lurking about looking to take advantage of the rumored attack, or citizens could be volunteering/working and running games/booths/shops. Your character also does not have to attend with their superhero persona, they are welcome to attend just as a civilian should they wish.

the street festival is pretty standard. it features booths for games, people running little shops, and an abundance of places for food (trucks, stands, etc) ! there are also street performers ( some powered who take the opportunity to show off their abilities in a harmless way --- think marvel’s dazzler who uses her powers for her shows ). it really should be a time to cut-loose but some characters may feel on-edge or nervous due to protesters and whispers of the event potentially facing an attack by an anti-mutant organization. it is also up to you whether or not your character abides by the no weapons/gadget/fighting/power rule - they may not believe the police are up to the task or that the risk is too great to be unprepared. however, they’ve been invited in good faith and so it could hurt the organization running the festival if super-powered individuals get caught doing anything but enjoying said event. It is a slippery slope but it is entirely up to you on how your character will react to what unfolds.
