Making PKU+Diabetic friendly recipes
As well as random recipes that pop into my head as i try to empty out my fridge
I'm sorry i've been gone so long but i hope to get better at it
An update..
To the anon whom asked for a cream of chicken recipe. As well as to the others who were lookingĀ forwardĀ to it. Iām sorry itās taken me longer than i ever hope to get something posted. But to answer the anonās issue with MSG the simplest response is to make youāre own broth when making the cream of chicken soup.
Thatās the simplest answer. My medium answer will come hopefully later today as a recipe for cream of chicken soup. The full on answer willl be a recipe using cream of chicken soup to make something else(that one will come this upcoming weekend with pictures and a review)
again sorry all for taking so long!
as a side note:: Iām still keeping an eye out for a nutella recipe that isnāt a baking recipe(Iāve found a bunch of thoseā¦but no main entree type stuff yet)
#cookingĀ #recipeĀ #recipesĀ #MSGĀ #cream of chicken soupĀ #update
I have a sensitivity to MSG which some of the cream of _ soups have :] Actually, if you can remake any food that usually has MSG, I will be eternally grateful :D
Ah HA! no MSG! OK! no problem! that makes things nice and clear! Thanks! Ā And sure! i'll do a few w/o MSG every now and then
Can you create cream of chicken soup? I have an allergic reaction to any "cream of *blank*" soup but a lot of recipes need it to cook with. Thanks!
Sure! I'll do my best!
Do you know what specifically about "Cream of[insert food here]" gives you issue?
If not no problem... it'll just take me a while longer to figure something out.
Still asking you all for recipes and stuff!
Send me a recipe! Really! Anything! Iāll take your recipeā¦and cook it!Ā
Admittedly, I will alter it somehow.(After all Iāll want to eat it too) but Iāll make it your way too if you want me too. Ā
Every recipe will be photographed, and depending upon the type of recipe Iāll add things to plate with it. For example, if you give me a recipe that goes well on top of rice Iāll prepare it, place it on top of the rice, and add anything that I think would go well with the recipe. Green beans, steamed veggies, or something(hopefully youāre getting what Iām trying to say) Of course if I add something like that Iāll list it in the post too.
If you donāt have a recipe⦠Send an ingredient you like! Like your favorite veggie, fruit, or whatever else. Iāll find a recipe out of my own collection of books and post it for you! and remember to tell me if you don't like a certain ingredient and i'll do my best o not include or reduce it's appearance
So the challenge has been issued, and thereās my ask box⦠So fill it maybe? or the submit box

So send me more to do! The submit box is open! Also the Ask box too!
Remember the guidelines are
1) It can be an ingredient(spices included), or recipe Iāll take it!
2)IF you submitted an ingredient for the recipe to be based upon and you donāt like something in your recipes(itās raw tomatoes for me[or eggplant..eugh*shudders*]) tell me and iāll not have that ingredient in the final result
3)if something doesnāt make sinceā¦ASK the clearer you all are about how this works⦠the better!
Yes ...have another
Technically i made this at the same time as the green bean recipe so here's this too!
Basque Chicken Ā (Serves 8) 2 medium yhellow onions, thinly sliced 6 garlic cloves, thinkly sliced 3-4 pounds chicken breasts, with bone and skin 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper 2 T olive oil 1 tablespoon Spanish smoked paprika 3-4 medium tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped 1 (12 oz) jar roasted red peppers, sliced or 2 roasted red peppers 1 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth Preheat oven to 425 F. Spread onions and garlic evenly in teh bottom of a large shallow roasting pan. Ā Cut each chicken breast in half. Ā Sprinkle chicken pieced on both sides with salt and pper. Ā Place chicken, skin side up, in pan. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with paparika. Ā Bake 20 minutes. Add tomatoes, red pepper and broth. To note since i do not eat meat i used a fake PKU friendly meat substitute. But this would go fantastic with potatoes instead of or added to the meat.
and the pictures of the green bean recipes
To the individual who wanted the green beans recipe
Sichuan Green Beans Ā Ā (makes 3 cups) ā teaspoon sesame oil 2 tablespoons lite soy sauce 1 T rice vinegar 1-1/2 teaspoons sugar ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes ¼ t pepper 1 pound green beans, ends trimmed (435 gm) ¼ C water 1 tablespoon canola oil 1 medium clove garlic, minced 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger In a small bowl, combine the sesame oil, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, red pepper flakes, and pepper Set aside. Heat a large skillet over high heat. Ā When the skillet is hot, add the beans and water. Ā Cover and cook for 4 minutes, stirring once, until the beans are still slightly crunchy and are bright green. Ā Uncover and continue to cook until all water has evaporated. Add the canola oil, garlic, and ginger to the pan; stir and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes. Ā Add the sesame-soy mixture; stir to combine. Ā Bring to a boil and cook until most of the liquid has evaporated and the sauce has thickened.

I will post the picture shortly but i wanted to make sure the recipe got up on sunday.
Any way this is a really good and simple recipe. Usually i'll alter a recipe to allow somone like myself with phenylketonuria(PKU) to eat it but that wasn't necessary this time so the only change is a simple one. i replaced the sugar with splenda for my diabetes. I'd double the amount of ingredients for the sauce so you have a little of that left over when you're done(i had a few too many green beans so there wasn't enough sauce to really spread around.)
But to whom i did this recipe up for... I hope you like it as much as i did looking for, making, and eating it!
Green beans. (can you do anything at all with Nutella cause that was my first pick but I wasn't sure)
I'll do my best for both! (Challenge accepted![Especially the Nutella!{I do apologize if i don't get something for the Nutella}])
Look for the recipe this upcoming Sunday(to allow time to find recipe and ingredients!)
